Tricky problem: if you were running a Kickstarter, what would you offer for $1000? It can't actually be *worth* anywhere near that much, otherwise you're not getting any actual funding.

You might find there's already an NPC with claim to that name, Mr. B!

I think getting your name in a game would be worth it, if you have the money and you're invested in the series or something. I love Broken Sword, so if I had that kind of cash, I'd love to have my name in it, or rather, it would have been great to get my name into the first Broken Sword (I doubt the new one will be as good).

Imagine being Chris Houlihan and having your name preserved forever in Link to the Past, a piece of gaming history that will be played for generations to come...

But we're not asking him to be a charity. We're not asking him to put in all his own personal savings, and then give the game away for free. If the game is successful, he will make a profit, if it isn't, he won't. That's business. If you remove that from the equation so that there is no negative outcome for him, only for the consumers, then no, he isn't a businessman.

Having said that, it makes more sense for a lot of people to lose a comparatively tiny amount of money than for a single company or a single person to lose everything. Especially if that would mean they'd have to stop making games altogether.

I'm gently trolling. Isn't there a new DC shooter every week?

Did I hear a Dizzy remake is in the offing?

                    Yep - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/.../dizzy-returns

For PC and iOS. There is already an iOS Dizzy and the controls are horrendous though.

Maia is only 10% away from the target goal with 3 days left. And now offering an indie bundle + the previous tiers.

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption made it. By the skin of their teeth but the Coles pulled it off!

Shadowgate is also now funded. Let's see if it reaches any of its stretch goals with 16 hours to go.

Guido Henkel is pitching is Thorvalla RPG project on Kickstarter. With a one million dollar goal set, things are looking beyond bleak for this one...

The History of Ocean Software by Retro Fusion. I have a feeling this one'll be popular around these parts.

The sequel to the awesome Barkley, Shut Up And Jam: Gaiden is here as a Kickstarter project!

The original game can be found here (it's completely free to play so check it out!): http://www.talesofgames.com/related_...up-jam-gaiden/

So, the sequel is called The Magical Realms of T?r na n?g: Escape from Necron 7 - Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie - Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa

Check out the Kickstarter vid in the link, it looks awesome, quite a lot like Shadowrun on the Mega Drive!

Edit: Okay, I just backed Sui Generis and Barkley 2 which brings my total backed projects to seven in total. How about you guys, how many projects (games or otherwise) have you pledged to?
