I don't mind PS Orbis but I think Sony should buck the trend and call it PS4. They've had enough bad luck recently without a superstitious number so maybe their fortunes will be magically reversed?

I don't really care what consoles are called because I'll call them what I feel like in real life(e.g. I call the DS a Gameboy) and on forums it doesn't matter how ridiculous it sounds because you're typing it and you could just read it in Morgan Freeman's voice and it'd sound wicked.

I think Xenon would've been stupid as a console name because it sounds like something from the old console days(Megadrive, Jaguar, etc) and we're past all that now.

I doubt they'll call it the Xbox 8 because they'd have to explain away the 8 and it would make no sense to name the console after its OS, plus the numbering is mucked up(it'd be like Sony calling the PS4 PS5 because of all that shi stuff - it'd make no sense). They could probably pull off the infinity if they used the Windows 8 font and I wouldn't feel silly talking about Halo on the Infinity. Sony had that Third Place stuff which they could mix the PS3 into easily and still use it to sell their other services which were part of the same ecosystem.

There's no way in hell they'd go with 720 because doubling the degrees as a console sequel naming strategy only makes sense to complete wallies who have no idea what 360 meant in the first place.

Assuming they push Kinect more with this one, I expect some kind of movement-based name for the console like what Jake posted(would prefer Nakamura's CoD Player in a parallel universe because it's perfect).

Car manufacturers don't feel the need to give updated versions of a motor a new name. Apple has gone with iPad instead of iPad 3. In fact even the iPad 2 just said iPad on the box. I reckon if Apple go with iPhone this year MS will follow suit with just Xbox.

Apple also kills the old line when new models come out, MS did the same thing with the original X Box and the 360, but they will have to change name or add something to the X Box brand, just that name won't be enough.
