Virtua Tennis was certainly a lot of fun in 1999 but it is deep as a puddle in the desert.

I thought the general consensus was the series peaked with Virtua Tennis 2
I really don't know how anyone can make out that VF 1 or 2 is better than VT 3 and Virtual Tennis IV is a marked improvement on the lot of them and one of the best sports games made this gen .

. Can't recall but did the first have the giant skittles and all the quirky bonus modes
Yep they were all there on the 1st game

Anyone here played Sega GT or Test Drive Le Mans? looking to get another racer after playing Tokyo Highway Challenge 2, but I've already played F355 and the first THC.

I'll have to check out the Virtua Tennis IV. I was under the impression the series went downhill after the DC.

Sega GT is diabolical and Le Mans 24 is fairly decent fun. I have a PAL copy you can have if you want.

SEGA GT is ok , but you need to make sure you get the Jp Import - The USA and Pal versions had the handling model changed and its completely dreadful, the Jp version is much better . Le Mans is great and MSR is a must I really liked Buggy Heat and Speed Devils too

No doubt coming from the ones that never owned Part IV or the Retro DC gang that thinks any modern update is worst than the classic . If you liked VT then Part III and more Part IV are a big step and improvement for the series (read that doesn't mean they're the best tennis games , just the best in the VT series imo)

Le Mans fantastic fun and is visually stunning too, when you are barrelling down the back straight in the pouring rain at dusk and there is a car next to you with the brake discs glowing, it melted my brain. You can do a full 24hr if you are nuts.

Owned MSR on a number of occasions but it just hasn't clicked with me in the same way Tokyo Highway Challenge 2 and F355 have. Maybe it's the kudos system - it's not like I actively dislike the game it just doesn't hold my attention like the above mentioned games.

                Also, lol at Speed Devils.

I thought it was pretty good but they should have gone more OTT with the tracks and physics - felt they played it a little safe for what was supposed to be a very over the top type game.

Did you have play Grand Prix Challenge on PS2 by the same dev? 22 cars on screen, full dynamic weather that could change mid race. Nice lighting and very good car models all running at a stunning 60fps.

I believe they're the best versions available.

You can even watch all the cut-scenes in the video viewer in Resi 2 which is a really nice touch.

Sega GT was good. It was a Gran Turismo with better graphics and framerate. And somewhat more fun, the license test was just about beating one lap time also.

Enjoyable racing game once you got the handling down.

As far as the 'official' summer goes there are just 4 more days to go

My handful of remaining VMU's have just been packed up and the massive stack of discs for the coming Winter piled ready for playthrough. It's a shame that Sturmwind didn't make it out in time for this.

Is that straight out the box or do you need to complete the game first?

The Hunk and Tofu missions are available from the get-go, as is the survival mode with Chris, but you need to have watched the cut-scenes at least once in the main scenarios for them to appear in the video viewer. There's also concept art and a model viewer to browse.

Ah, that's a shame. Too bad they didn't include such features in the gamecube version.
