Not coming this year. To be honest I think it will have slipped to PS4 but time will tell.

Can somebody fully explain PS+ to me? What are the changes as I can't get my head around it from all of the various posts I am reading.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

Beforehand when you subscribe you get access to things like auto-system updates, cloud saving, early beta access, discounts of selected items in the PSN Store and free avatars, themes and games. The recent refresh of the service is the addition of 10-12 free games per month in addition to what was already available. The games range in scope but this months are things like Virtua Fighter 5, Motorstorm Apocolypse, Warhammer Space Marine, LBP2 (dependent on store region)

How does it work for PSN+ discounted titles?
it doesnt go from your hard drive if its subscription freebies it just wont work unless it sees a plus account you dont need to redownload or anything

Ok thanks for that. Do the 10-12 games a month only work for a month or are they yours for as long as you subscribe? People are going to need MASSIVE hard drives if you can keep them forever.

Forever. I believe you can choose 4(?) from the list given this month.

You still lose the games though, you're still tied into paying a subscription indefinitely or risk losing access to these games. I'm fear I am missing the point or something.

I've just read it, and there is a game of the month that changes every four weeks. The other games rotate on a 12-week basis. There are three titles, which are available forever providing you don't stop subscribing. Not quite as good as they make it sound, but TBH if you aren't fussed about playing cutting edge titles, you could pay ?50 a year and never buy another game again.

You aren't missing the point. The point is in addition to discounted games you can keep forever and other PS+ features you also get, each month, a bunch of games that are your to play for as long as you subscribe to PS+. Think of it as a long term rental. IMO it's a pretty good value long term rental. For me there are a bunch of game types that once I've finished them I'll never play again so if I get to play them as part of something else I'm subscribing for then that's a win.

People pay MS money each year for cross-game chat FFS!

Its not just that feature FSW and you know full well that there are very good reasons why Live is chargable and PSN is free, don't start that argument again.

I was a PSN+ subscriber I and I have to say the freebee stuff was cool ... problem is my PS3 never (and I do mena never) gets switched on these days, so there isn;t any real point in having it. However I can see the attraction for PS3 owners who get some use out of the old George Foreman.

This exactly. i have not bothered with PS+ as i did not think it was really worth while for me but now with these changes it really is a fantastic deal. I did not really look at it this way but im paying what ?50 or so a year for Xbox live and this offers me is Multi-player gaming (which in all honesty i dont really enjoy all that much) and the odd Gold early access tos ome demo's which of course is only for a week or 2 and that is all i get. I really do think this is very generous. Lol my only problem is the HD could fill up quite soon.

In all seriousness why is live chargeable then (I usually only use the old white box for Dance Central) so I'm not really aufait with what it does that is so much better, I know it does X game chat and some of the sub goes to XNA (is that right?) but what else is it just cause they always have charged for it?

Hey, I wasn't trying to start an argument. Like evil though I've never really understood why folks say Live gold is worth paying for when PSN is free. Don't get me wrong; I think MS had the right idea and IMO Sony should have charged for PSN from day one. I think it was a mistake not to, and one that I'm sure they'd dearly like to fix but will find increasingly difficult. But, I've had a 360 (with Gold) and I have a PS3. The only feature I found missing on PSN was cross game chat (I didn't miss the feature actually, I just knew that the 360 had it).
