Yeah, im following this too! Proper nerdy but funny! See now when many of us said both videos look identical, maybe even XB1 was better, we WEREN'T mad!

Why would IW lie about this....??? Assume the journos made sure their TV's were set to 1080p, so very funny indeed!

Looks like activision has just confirmed it, don't worry though day one patch makes it 1080p on SP.

So makes me beg the question what the **** have people been saying reviewing this game as 1080p when it actually isn't?

Well what about the reviewers that got SLAUGHTERED for saying they couldn't see any difference in SP visuals? What a scandal.

Well they say retail versions have this problem. I would assume the reviewers weren't testing on retail copies hence the difference

If they weren't playing retail code they must have been playing unfinished code, which doesn't sound right either.

It was the reviewers very own direct feed captures of SP which exposed the issue in the first place. Pixel counters over on GAF analyzed the footage and cried bloody murder that PS4 was not outputting at 1080..... The reviewers that claimed the PS4 sp was miles ahead sure have some explaining to do.

                as I said, it's a scandal.

Lots of smoke and mirror stuff going on if you ask me. Starting to look like both machines are not that far apart as has been made out, and both are not nearly as high spec as they should have been in the first place.

On top of all that it seem you can no longer trust half the gaming sites on the net for info and reviews

Too right it is, no wonder people dont care about review anymore when **** like this happens!

Good on giantbomb and digitalfoundary for noticing something was up and not reviewing the game.

As for InfinityWard, wow. How the might have fallen. What a lazy game.

well it could be explained, if for example captures were taken from a separate PS4 which was accidently set at 720p I suppose. I think that rather than burn the games press, one can look at how some tried to deal with the issue honestly and hopefully there will be lessons learned.

if you ask me (not that I know much of anything) it seems best not to review any games until they are in final release, and tested independently on your own AV setup and internet connection. Lab conditions on beta code is not ideal.....

totally agree, and I hope they will get the deserved credit for not reviewing.

Now I'm wondering if when they reviewed this on PS4, and said it dropped frames/ stuttered... was that the 720p one? And if it was, surely that will get worse when it's 1080p?

                          Comment

The patch is to fix the stuttering as well.

The only way to review this game at this stage is on your own home setup with your own eyes. After all the resolution-gate headlines and scaremongering this news just makes you wonder what these review sites are actually worth. After seeing a few graphical comparison videos once again the differences appear to be minute and insignificant.

It's good that they'll fix the stuttering issues for PS4 anyway. This game needs to be rock solid 60fps regardless of its native resolution.

Like that hasn't been obvious for about 15 years.

Those comparison videos are useless to be fair. They've released lossless (or relatively), 60fps footage of battlefield 4 and killzone, why can't they do this for the comparisons? A 30fps, horribly compressed youtube video gives me no idea how a game looks.
