Do you actually believe what you say? Are you one of those same people who staunchly believe that there can be indefinite year-on-year capitalist growth? Everything has a logical end. As pointed out, you can't just keep adding **** to controllers in the belief this is progress. Surely we've reached a zenith? Actually, the PS3 pad is no different to the 360 pad, which is little different to Nintendo's own Pro Controller for the Wii (I recall it's missing the ability to click in L3 and R3). Two sticks, one d-pad, four shoulders, four face buttons, and a doohicky in the middle. There's a reason all three hardware manufacturers are sticking with this basic template: it works, and adding more to it is gilding the lilly. That's why they all started creating alternate forms of control (motion, sight based, et al).
Your basic control pad has reached an evolutionary plateau.
As J0e states, calling the PS3 outdated is idiocy, because it's the same as the other pads (the 360's non-symmetrical sticks notwithstanding).
