Hahaha. The PlayStation controller is the most illogical pad ever made. All pads before it had the d-pad where? In the optimum position for your left thumb, seeing as it was the sole method of controlling movement. Sony then made the dual shock, which had the stick where? Somewhere else. i.e. NOT in the optimum place. I can only imagine this is because, like Nintendo, they weren't sure 3D would become the dominant style and thought the d-pad would still be a necessity. Ok, fair enough. It's 2012 now. How often do you use the d-pad on a dual shock? Often enough to warrant it still taking up the most comfortable position on the entire pad? Probably not. Seriously. It's time for Sony to piss off.

I have 74 games downloaded onto my PS3, be them PSN, Mini's, PS1, PC Engine or Neo Geo, and a majority of them require use of the D-pad. Even games like Sonic Generations, Rayman Origins, Disgaea & Cross Edge are better played with the D-pad.

Even then, I prefer the feel of the DS3 to the terrible 360 controller.

I do like the triggers on the xbox better though but everything else is better on the DS3.

Really? I HAD to buy a stick to play HDR on the 360 as the pad and stick were terrible! At least with all iterations of the DS, I can pull off moves. You try doing Guile/Nash's super on a 360 pad! IMPOSSIBLE!

Hmm maybe Sony wouldn't be where it is if it actually just got some damn games out for the platforms they released, the fact theres fook all unique gamewise on PS3 is really annoying, i'd be amazed if theres even 20 titles that i'd want. PS1&2 had an amazing selection of weird & quirky fun games, literally something for everyone. This time it's even more annoying as theres no region restrictions yet whare are all the fun & quirky Japanese games??

However this time around i can barely find any for PS3, i have been looking for the ones that are unique to PS3 as any multi format ones i just get for 360. So far im upto 8 games in my collection.

There's loads of JPN-only PS3 titles. Loads that are playable. MALICIOUS is in the top five games of this gen. It's like when you used to buy a SFC game when you were 11, just from screenshots, then when you get home you find there is no language barrier, and it's ****ing badass.

So because a minority of PS3 games and the majority of ports from other systems that originally only had a d-pad use the d-pad, it should therefore be placed in the optimum position, rather than the analogue stick which the vast majority of games are designed around. Makes all kinds of sense.

Also, nobody is saying Sony should go under because they have a terrible controller. That's just one of many reasons.

Anyway, whether you like it or not, it's tough. Of the three, Sony is the most likely to pull out.

People who prefer the 360 controller layout obviously have deformed spastic hands or their left arm is 2" longer than their right one.

I like the DS because it's comfortable and when using the sticks, both of my thumbs are positioned better than on a 360 pad.

Imagine if they took that layout approach to other things. I'd love to see someone drive a car with one pedal under their foot and another next to the rear view mirror.

Most games these days place an emphasis on using the right stick to aim/look and the felt to move, with a majority of actions assigned to the shoulder buttons/triggers. The DS got that right with it's first incarnation, so why change what was a winning formula?

Sony got it right with their first attempt, MS have had four goes now? The original XBox controller was just terrible, the smaller one just as bad, the 360 launch controller is ugly and the new model with the rotating D-pad is a waste of time as it's still crap for anything you don't use the sticks with.

And in this day in age, there is no excuse for not including a battery inside the controller. Play and charge kits, along with proprietary HDD's and the like is just another way for Bill Gates to get money out of people.

Hell, if it wasn't for the 'Land of the free' and all their 'you faggot' yelling pre-teens on CoD & Halo, MS wouldn't even still be in the console race.
