I would so add Metroid Prime to that list. Even more so after all these years...

Ah, Metroid.... How I want you in HD. It is rather bittersweet Nintendo are behind in the HD department, means there's a whole new sense of magic to experience that is truly unique to Nintendo even when all the new powerhouses are arriving...

As for Lego, i've never been overally keen on the Lego games - so not enough here for me. I must admit a new Wii U release is enticing, more than it probably should be, but i'm actually really happy playing missed Wii titles at the moment (and eshop games) until Pikmin 3 or Wonderful 101. Lego City isnt a big hitter for me unfortantely.

I couldn't get on with the Prime games. I found them incredibly boring. Other: M though. Now there is a game and a half.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

Prime games definitely are not for everyone

Metroid Prime was the only 10 in GamesTM for some time. Honestly I loved it. Fantastic game.

Best game on gamecube hands down.

It hasnt aged well though, a real hd makeover in the way they are doing windwaker, would surely be revelatory.

Its quite sad that Monster Hunter isnt getting more hype, from the looks of it it is a huge upgrade from tri and it looks and plays awesome on the Wii U. I can see myself putting a few hundred hours into that game alone and will last me a few good months at least. At the moment Im trying to finish off Warriors Orochi which has been hugely entertaining as well as Ogre Battle, Mario Tennis and Shinobi on the VC.

I feel MH has a steep learning curve myself. That's what will put people off it.

I agree. I've tried, but obviously not enough because I just cannot get into it. I get frustrated with myself because it should be exactly my sort of game... yet... it's... all... so.... clunky... I can't get into it.

I adore the the old clunkiness of JRPGs... I'm the sort of person who thinks the original control scheme for Resident Evil 1 is fine (once you get used to it) but this Monster Hunter just never feels natural for me. Not the clunkiness of the controls, i dont mind that, but..everything else. For me, it's a chore to play and I just do not find it fun. I find i'm contantly fighting against the systems built. Ultimately it just isnt for me, sadly - because i really wanted it to be.

I tried to get into the very original Monster Hunter on PS2 when it came out, the idea appealed to me, but as you say it's very clunky and kind of [badly] made in some respects that Japanese developers can only somehow manage, Right down to the way that japanese developers never use a different font for the english, instead of relying on the horrible serif fonts that come bundled in with the japanese character set fonts.

That's the thing... It just seems badly thought out...

This is a silly reflection, but hey ho... here goes... When I play games I like to think the developers are smarter than me. I like to think i can learn something from these guys - or at least acknowlege good work, appreciate their thought processes, and ultimately... just have fun knowing I'm in the hands of guys who know their stuff. But Monster Hunter makes me irritable and annoyed because im constantly questioning why things are done how they are... So much so i cant help to think there must be an air of arrogance surrounding the project... or naivety? :-(

but **** it, it surely must be successful for a reason, so there's undoubtedly much i'm missing! And i'm actually quite envious of those who are truly into this franchise, because, like i said, I want to love it. I do not think it will be a system seller over here in the UK... but i'm intrigued to see how it performs

I've been considering, myself, for a few weeks now whether or not this would push me over the egde to purchase a Wii U. So far though I'm resisting and I'll probably end up waiting for a price reduction and the other games on the horizon I'm interested in.
