Low tech visuals, atrocious load times, and poor use of the GamePad – with no off-TV option. Simplistic combat and occasionally bland art design. No multiplayer.
No multiplayer, oh well no loss
Low tech visuals - its Lego (and a launch game)
bland art design - its Lego
Gamepad - No gamepad play, disappointing yes, but hardly a deal breaker.
atrocious load times - Which has already been noted in most of the reviews, guess how much it annoys will depend on the person, something which could be fixed later on though ...
Hardly anything there that's a deal breaker.

It does add up to being rather disappointing though, for a game that's been billed as the big one to carry Wii U gamers through to the summer.
If this had been on Xbox or PS3 it wouldn't have received nearly as much attention as it has. I wouldn't call it a launch game either, that's just buying into the 'launch window' marketing speak. Launch games are the ones that come out on the same day as the system!

I think the main problem with a GTA game for kids is that GTA IV (maybe even GTA V expectations) will be the yardstick they're measured against which is probably fair since judging by Xbox Live kids play those anyway. The difference in scores on this is probably more to do with some reviewers seeing it as a poor GTA-clone while others see it as an improved formula for the Lego franchise.

Also this is the first open world Lego game, so we can cut the guys a little slack.Last edited by originalbadboy; 14-03-2013, 13:46.
