I had Youtube crash on me when I tried it this morning .. In fact it doesn't seem to work at all at the moment.

I haven't had any signifcant WiFi issues so far.

To me the gamepad screen looks great, not noticing any colour issues mself, but then I haven't tried it with games etc yet.

The menu system speeed is a little on the slow side, depending on where you are gonig to and from, but its not as bad as being made out.

Limited range RGB is a pisser, and I really hope that isn't a hardware limitation, otherwise Nintendo will have shot themselves in the foot.

I do love the fact I can just turn the console on without having to fire up the PJ in order to check / download things, that is the one thing that annoys me about the 360 and PS3. The fact that yuo can do it all from the sofa, and control your TV as well if you like is a master stroke from Nintendo, in its execution as least.
All we're saying is these issues are pretty unacceptable for 2012 especially when Nintendo have had the chance to watch the other consoles for the last 6/7 years. I'm glad these issues aren't a factor for you though, still it's clear to see from this forum alone they do exist.

You do need to stop being so defensive though, unless you work for Nintendo

I presume you can take the 2.0 PCM track that comes through & use Pro Logic to create some pseudo 5.1 surround. Not ideal at all, but better than nowt I suppose.

LOL ... Really ... This is coming from 'Mr I dont like anything unless its ZombiU' .. Do you work for Ubisoft?

In all seriousness it is shocking that these issues are here on a new machine, I never said it wasn't and I have been just as damning of Nintendo as everyone else has been.

Personally the lack of audio issues doesn't affect me as my AMP has HDMI anyway, and I don't have any intention of playing Wii games (unless they re-released in HD), so yeah those two issues do not affect me, that's not my fault.

There are obviously issues with the WiiU I wasn't expecting there not to be , there will be issues with the NextBox and PS4 when they come out as well, I can guarentee you that ... Its how quickly Nintendo respond to some of the stuff and get it sorted that worries me.

Thank you to all the early adopters on here posting + and - of WiiU

The lack of 60hz means I have to buy as USA one (if I ever buy a WiiU) as there is no way I am going back to PAL SNES days in 2012.

They will have a long wait to get my money!

That's only for Wii games ... WiiU supports all modern refresh rates and resolutions.

              Issue list

              WiFi Connectivity
Think this problem is due to certain routers and ISPs. I just googled "virgin superhub +360 +PS3", last night, and I read similar issues people were having connecting non PC devices with this router. Some even went that far as in placing their superhub into modem mode and attached a separate router onto it, to get their problem solved. Furthermore, i also read that virginmedia's dns are not really up to date and that they are slow maintaining it, which can also affect connections, as in translating domains into IP addresses. So I wouldn't say it is necessarily a fault with this machine.
I'm not defending nintendo, but wifi/network troubles with consoles/habdhelds can be caused by many different factors.

Yeah routers fom ISP's are notoriously bad for Wifi in my experience ... BT HH is pretty bad ...

                  Why is it?

Does your TV not accept Limited RGB??
                  Of course it does.

The Wii U is a 'Video' game system, not a 'PC' system going into a 'PC' monitor.

The other names for limited and full are Video level and PC level.

                  It makes no difference.

My understanding is that there's no pro logic either but I'm not 100% oj that. Anyone clarify?

I meant use your amp's pro-logic setting to muck around with the signal.

think he means by using the amp, rather than encoded in pro logic (but will sound gash)

i am fine as i have an amp that decodes lossless signals, but not outputting DD/DTS 5.1 as a minimum is rather silly (even the first xbox did this), although i'm glad they choose to have all games output LPCM 5.1 as a standard (pretty much the same as a ps3 although many games support 7.1 on that format).

yep lossless 5.1 will do me (when I eventually get one)

Picked up my Wii-U this morning. Not played a game yet as I've been setting it up but already impressed with it. It just feels like a quality bit if kit. You can tell all the money has been thrown at the controller. Can't wait to play games on it.

As anticipated I would have trouble connecting it to my Virgin Media Superhub but a quick google search "Wii U Virgin Media SuperHub" and selecting results in the last 24 hour I found this awesome guide. I've tweeked it a bit to help with my issues.

If this helps others it might be worth making it a sticky.

First log into your VM SuperHub settings on your PC and change the security to WPA-PSK(TKIP) (I kept my security passphrase the same as before).

Now on your Wii U settings:

                                1. Go into connection types, Hit "Manual Configuration" 2. Input your SSID
                                3. Input the correct security type, this is key. (this should now be WPA-PSK(TKIP) if you did change it to begin with)
                                4. Put your password in properly
                                5. For IP address "Do not auto obtain".
                                6. Open up cmd in your computer, type in ipconfig
                                7. Now input that IP address but add 10. My PC said 192.168.0.7 so on the Wii U I put 192.168.0.17
                                8. Enter the rest of your info inside such as subnet mask and default gateway exactly as you see it in your ipconfig.
                                9. Now hit next, hit configure now for your DNS. When asked about DNS hit "Dont auto obtain".
                                10. For the first server put in 8.8.8.8 (the console will generatate the rest of the 0 for you)
                                11. For the second server put in 8.8.4.4 (the console will generatate the rest of the 0 for you)
                                12. Hit Next, when asked about a proxy hit no proxy
                                13. Leave MTU as the default
                                14. It should work, if not check the IP and that it is the internet IP + 10.

Please note this guide is to help get your Wii U online. It may create issues with other devices connecting to your network. My Galaxy S2 still connected but I had to re-do my settings on my PC. Not tried PS3 yet.
