From my experience of lego games they are always releases targeted squarely at kids with super simple structures and goals etc, hence my surprise that a lego game would be big news?

Lol are you kidding, the Lego games are probably one of my favorite series of games. Granted the early ones may be aimed at the kids market but Batman 2 and Lego LOTR were in the own right brilliant and involve quite deep gameplay. Also from what i have seen Lego City looks to be brilliant fun, easily enough to tide people over until GTAV appears. Plus i think its fair to say this has been one of the most promising early Wii U games owners have been waiting for, i know i have and so do Nintendo as they have been really pushing it for the past few months.

I honestly didnt realise after the first couple of lego games were so simplistic, i just assumed that was what they were going for with each subsequent release.

      Favorite series....what the hell?

**** i'm gonna order lego batman 2 in that case, just seen the 9/10 on eurogamer.

Common sense at last? Bout time ... Although I see Fzero wont support Gamepad play on release, so one thing fixed another thing not so much!

I don't own a WiiU, but does that mean the game isn't playable on a WiiU out of the box? Bloody madness if so.

No it means you cant play it on the Gamepad at release, just on the Tele

Hang on... are all the Wii VC games not available on WiiU?

                  Only in Wii mode

Would that really matter when playing a SNES game? I can understand the 60Hz draw here but generally are they adding games to the WiiU VC that are already on the Wii VC? I think I'm missing something.

Wii-U VC games can be played on the gamepad. WII VC games can't.

And when they go to WiiU, do you have to rebuy them or do they update previous purchases?

They are adding games to the WiiU VC from the Wii VC. Right now there is no WiiU VC, the only Virtual Console is the one in Wii mode. Wii mode kills all GamePad function.

I'm a little surprised that F-Zero won't have GamePad play to begin with. That's kind of the whole point isn't it?

Edit: you have to rebuy them. Again.

Hmm, that's a bit stinky. You'd think they'd get them working together and purchases would carry across.

There is a fee for upgrading per game. I think the US prices are $1 per NES game and $1.50 per SNES game?

So Nintendo fudge the whole VC thing in the first place by not tying your purchases to an account then, for those that have actually put the effort into getting their VC titles transferred over, want you to pay for the privilege of using the games you've already bought on the pad? - which only has a 3 hour battery life anyway.

                                Next gen indeed...
