It's a little bit worrying when my use of Miiverse ends up bordering on my Twitter addiction. Woke up and before I left work, I *had* to turn the machine on just to take a quick look at my notifications. Oh dear...

Miiverse is ace and I didn't think it would interest me but it's a nice touch. It's like a forum but without the negativity :/

Yes. Given that to buy the Premium pack, ZombiU & Pro Controller would cost (at RRP) over ?400 the ?350 ZombiU pack (everything except NintendoLand) is better.

Yes it works on it's own without need of a Wiimote. I'm sure there's no reason a normal CC Pro couldn't be used for games but I'm betting it won't anyway.

Yeah but the ps4 will surely be a more solid long term investment... i mean its all well and good being pleased for the short term when 360 and ps3 are still pumping out games using old engines, but what when the two next gens arrive next year, and unreal engine 4 etc become the norm? man it aint gonna be pretty. The old gen ports will run dry soon enough, and 3rd party devs better have a good install base to work with, or it might as well be a machine to drag out at christmas with nintendo releasing barren release schedules every year, and the main games being mario party 27.

With this at mind even at your proposed ?600 launch, the ps4 sounds a good prospect.

But then If the machine sells well over chistmas and continues into the new year then it wont be a problem. Nintendo justr need a couple of BIG games in spring/summer and i doubt pikmin is it. The price however IS a barrier right now, if i cant bring myself to buy one because of price, then the amount of money tight families who may pass up the opportunity i imagine will be great.

Whilst I will admit I didn't get a PS3 at launch because of it's long term prospects (something that was vindicated if you ask me) I didn't go on forums telling people how **** it was when it launched, whats the point in that?

Where have i berated anyone? or have i actually called the WiiU ****? I said without the controller it would amount to a **** 360 on a technical level, and that its **** value for money...thats it.

The Wii was worse still on release and i bought one, so why would i hold anything against anyone?

All i have spoken is my own personal opinion based on value for money. If you dont like it then that sucks for you, but if you are that happy with your WiiU why should my opinion matter so much?

My arguments are valid and this is a discussion thread about the WiiU. If it bothers you maybe dont react?

There is so much doomsaying about the Wii U being less powerful than the PS4 and Xbox 360. Yet the Wii was far less powerful than both of the other systems this gen. My prediction would be that the gap will be smaller this time around - even if it's not, and the divide is exactly the same, Nintendo have shown that they don't need to rely on graphical muscle in order to sell millions and millions of games. Mario Kart Wii chalked up 70 million sales, for instance.

I know some will say that it's not about sales figures, it's about the games and the gamer experience. With regards to that, I thought the Nintendo releases on the Wii were absolutely superb for the most part, and I enjoyed them hugely. It doesn't need third party stuff that much to sell.

Exactly.......at ?179.99 things do look better. That was the shrewd move by ninty, along with the new controls. But i just get the feeling nintendo are trying to have there cake and eat it right now with price, as with the 3ds initially. They dont NEED to be so greedy, as the 3ds has also proven.

I still think nintendo will cut the price 3DS style next year though, thats when i buy one. I just hope they rack up the sales in the meantime, because there seems to be no stock shortage.

I mean i do actually want the WiiU to succeed in spite of nintendo, a decent HD zelda/metroid is still my wet dream!

Grasping straws or not I bet your not far wrong. Price cut and a AAA App just before ps4/nextbox launch, Nintendo would be stupid not to. E3's going to be great.

I am loving my wii u, the more time I spend with it the better it gets. I frankly don't care about ps4 or Xbox 720. A year from now who knows what's going to happen. I've talked myself into joining in the nintendo fun times. I've had every major nintendo console since the SNES so i kinda have to buy one.
