Yeah for ?199 it's a good buy - it doesn't help with the OS lock-ups, slow downloads and temperamental wifi though.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was showing a 2 hours update - it's dropped down now a bit, but it's still pretty ridiculous how long these updates take.

Unbelievable. Was gonna pick one up this evening but blockbuster only have the white NHS version.

I went to Currys as I broke earlier today and reserved one, got there and there were none typical. Thought that would happen so reserved one next door at PC World and yet again they had sold it oh well . It's In stock at Amazon B. I took it as a sign ill wait a bit I think Far Cry 3 has its hooks in deep enough anyways for now.

I've still got my wii so, despite the obvious poor VFM compared to the mega zombie u pack I'm considering a basic white one. Just checking controller support options. One potential issue is that me and my girl play Mario Kart with her using a wiimote in the wheel while I use a gamecube pad. What will my options be on Wii U? Not a showstopper as I'll keep the Wii anyway.

It's either Wiimote, Wiimote + Nunchuk or Wiimote + Classic Controller. The Gamepad can't be used for Wii games, not yet anyway.

Tekken Tag Tourny 2 makes me want to buy more WiiU games. It really is very good.

Ok ta. So, in summary: Wii games need Wii controllers. Wii U games need Wii U controllers but sometimes Wii controllers can be used for some Wii U games?

The first part is absotutely correct, but a bunch of Wii U games can be played with just Wii controllers it seems. There's a handy box on the back of all the covers that state what controllers are required, and which are compatible. Often the Gamepad is in the "required" box, but on some games (like Blops 2) all the controllers are listed in the "compatible" box, meaning you can pick and choose what to use. Blops 2 even lists the Zapper as an option.

Blimey. Odds of them dropping the 8Gb SKU sooner rather than later?

Ah, I may have worded that badly. What I'm saying is that right now 8GB units are robbed of 5GB of that space by the patch. IN a few months new consoles will have that patch on there at the factory and that means that the 8GB units will actually have close to the full 8GB of free space available rather than the 3GB they have now.

32GB or 8GB it's rather meaningless given the size of DLC. But then, do you really want to pay more and have your digital content tied to your console when physical copies are cheaper and not?

If you do go down the DLC route, you're going to need to plug in an external storage fairly quickly regardless of which version of the console you purchased.

The 8GB or 32GB I think is rather moot - plus the white version doesn't show up the finger prints quite so much.
