Just to clarify, has anyone received an AUS unit yet, who lives in the UK?

If so, have you...

>> Done a system transfer
>> Used the eShop
>> Tried a cartridge game from the UK

... and found it to be, for all intents and purposes, a UK machine?

I appreciate that there are links, opinions online and what-have-you, but I'm still waiting on my order until someone, like an actual person, with an actual AUS New3DS in hand, can confirm these things from first-hand experience.

Now the question is whether I should get one of these or one of those Chinese handhelds for some portable DC action.

I should mention the start up time is much faster. I'd not realised until I booted up the New3DS after having turned on the XL, and then it be ready a good few seconds before the latter. Granted, I have the stock microSD in the New3DS, and a 32GB class 10 SD card in the XL.

I wish. Got mine on order with P-A. I think the AUS packaging will be pretty dull. Not a patch on the JPN units.

Presumably the villains of the Mario series will also get face plates soon - DK, Wario and Bowser. I'd definitely buy DK and Bowser. Then Link and Samus at some point too.

The 3DS is region locked isn't it ? So Australian one is the way to go for pal users

The unconfirmed issue is the eShop though. Not much use if you have a ton of DL games you can't transfer from your older model.

Did you try a system transfer from your old map 3ds to this new one? I'd be interested to see how it does it seeing as it formats the memory card in the old unit for the destination one, but in this case they are different sizes right?

It has the ability this time to transfer all the SD card contents via the system transfer, when i got mine i just popped out the stock 4GB micro sd and put in my new 32GB one and did the system transfer, there was no need to copy anything via pc at all.
