It's got two Tekken games, two Ace Combat games, five Final Fantasy games, the entire Metal Slug range is on it amongst hundreds of other games.

The only game that PSP is missing is Biohazard. There are absolutely loads of good PSP games, people just choose to forget they exist.

DS took advantage of its touch screen primary function, that's only why it was such a hit.

Vita faces a different problem to PSP. Vita needs games. More games, more often. That's pretty much all it needs.
I was talking about support from Sony itself, not third parties. In Japan third party support isn't too bad but a lot of those games never make it overseas. Western third party handheld games seem to be exclusively on mobile. This applies to both the PS VITA and the 3DS. In fact with the exception of Monster Hunter the 3rd party support on the VITA is better than it is on 3DS. Even with the better 3rd party support the 3DS still trounces the VITA because it has a better lineup of games that are unique to the system and can't be found anywhere else.

Are there actually any major games upcoming for Vita? I wonder if the end is near for my favourite handheld.

I guess PS4 remote play will be supported for it's lifetime, but sales are so slow I can't imagine many more games like KZM will be released.

I feel it has a wonderful catalogue of games, but just doesn't seem to have caught gamers imagination.

Haven't heard a thing on any new Vita games. God of War collection will be good but I have played those already on two different systems - still great to have them on a handheld, I guess. FF-X, I suppose. As I was saying in the irk thread, it seems insane to me that GTA SA (and the other PS2 GTAs) have made it to iPad and not the Vita. Get it to Vita, Rockstar!

But those are all old games there. Where's the new?

Project Diva f 2nd on March 6th. That's the only new title on the horizon as far as I can see.

Freedom Wars is looking pretty special:

Japan wise theres a steady trickle of titles, some worth keeping an eye out for maybe. In western markets it's got nothing at all, literally. All hangs on this years E3, Sony need to go big with a renewed push post PS4 or it's curtains

What about Ys: Memories of Celceta, Toukiden and Demon Gaze. All of them are decent and out in the next few weeks over here, unless you have imported them already of course.

Hopefully Freedom Wars gets a Western release. The only importing I'll be doing is MH, SRW, BokuKan and A-Train.

Do you think that they'll announce a UK release of the 64Gb memory card as well?

Does it work fine with a UK PS VITA? And can you set up a separate PSN account if you have two memory cards? (I want to be able to put my Japanese PSN downloads on there sometime this year).

Don't know about the 2nd part, but yes, the memory cards work fine.

Does the new VIta support normal memory cards? I'm looking at a 64GB from Amazon, but it's quite pricey.
