i do wish all the staff the best and hope they manage to meet the lenders agreement

but if business is falling then its going to keep on falling and eventually it will happen

but Zavvi have went from failing on the high street to being a pretty decent online retailer

was going in anyway so just hope they are still open

but i preordered the skyfall steelbook and when i did that i got a 20% off voucher which i used against the partners Ubeats - so pretty much saved ?30 for nothing, maybe thats why the business model failed
Good luck with that Jase (not really worth it bud), not everything is blue crossed just so people know vita memory cards were not (blue crossed) in Durham or Darlington, Wii U charge cradles however. Very few gaming items mind

Website must be down as i just tried it just now. God im so glad i decided to use my gift vouchers at the weekend instead of waiting until this weekend as i could have been buggered.

I do feel very sad for all staff as i know from first hand experience what its like when the company you work for goes into Administration after being made redundant last year.

I guess, if it truly goes tits up (like with Jessops) then another retailer will get their steel book Blu-ray stuff along with any other exclusives.

I'm sorry to all those who will lose jobs as a result of this, as that's always a difficult time.

However, I'm not sorry to see HMV go. Like GAME they insisted on non-competitive prices for seemingly no reason at all. I also had a bad experience with getting my 3DS from there, although in the end they did sort it out.

Sad news for the staff it really is...another round of job losses really not what you need in January

Just a quick question guys I assume that based on this that the wifes gift card is as worthless as the plastic it's made from now then?

We won't make it to the store till the weekend & assume by then the administrators will be in

Another thing that is a problem is if anyone has a load of HMV Pure points saved up. I guess those will be now worthless.

Not necessarily, Comet at first refuesd to accept them when they went into Admin but eventually caved in a let people spend them also if a buyer is found like in Games case chances are they will accept them again. So might not be worthless just yet.

                            Fingers crossed.

Missus is thinking about popping into town tomorrow if the weather isn't too bad on the off chance of picking something up.

I've got some dough on a gift card lying around. Might give it a punt tomorrow.

Sad news... There aren't that many places left on the high street that now stock a decent selection of games... HMV has been around for as long as I can remember - is it just the UK stores that are closing or is this across the board around the world?

                                112 :/
