I dunno, Borderlands is good fun, but the combat has always been basic at best. Funny, colourful, with lots of random stuff happening and loads of weapons/gadgets, but still basic. Halo pve combat is absolute leagues in terms of complexity and learning curve - if they capture that in Destiny with the loot grinding and levelling up of Bordferlands it will kick ass

To me Borderlands is all about a few mates teaming up and using your individual skills to tackle each encounter and then fighting over the loot. Amazing game when played like that and it more than compensates for the otherwise basic combat. On your own though I doubt Borderlands is much fun at all.

I did the original solo and loved it, I think with Destiny its art style out of most things. For the most part its boring to look at but to be honest I expected that as Halo was always the same in many areas. I'll certainly give it a go but as one of the peeps who thinks Bungie has never been as good as Halo fans give them credit for being its meant my view of Destiny has stayed muted, hopefully that means the full game in hand will surprise me and become the next addiction as these types of games can be

Destiny pretty much looks like the same thing really, cant see why people are calling it a 'game changer' unless I am missing something. Sure it will be fun though.

Apparently Activision are spending $500m on launching this new universe to which analysts say Destiny will need to sell 15-16m units to break even though are predicting sales of 8m.
Honestly, I'd be a little surprised at 8m... Maybe as lifetime sales a few years after launch

The article says they aren't expecting to break even, that figure includes other expenditure and investment . It says that over the lifetime of the IP the games will have cost about the same as other AAA games.
That article actually kind of made me excited as they are clearly taking it super seriously.
