Why no handhelds? Kid Icarus was my GOTY for 2012.

Two reasons.

1. To me, handheld gaming, particularly on mobiles, offers a different experience to gaming on the big screen and I don't have the opportunity to play games anywhere other than on my sofa, so I rarely play handhelds. But more importantly...

2. I couldn't remember when the DS and PSP were released this morning, and I knew if I had included handhelds, people would pick 3DS or Vita games, which are the 'new generation' as far as I'm concerned.

Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare - where online gaming finally clicked
PGR3 - Looked and played amazing on release
Battlefield 3 - Great possibilities
Mass Effect 2 - Brilliant adventure.

Would love to of put things like Gran Turismo 5, Forza something, etc, but when the best racer this gen was Shift 2, you know they don't stand a chance.

I think this gen has been well serviced by FPS's

Hmm completely forgot about Skate. I should probably switch that with Stoked (which was the first game I 1000g), but I kept Stoked and sold Skate (and wasn't compelled to play the sequels) so maybe it's fine as is.
