Oh, I'll be the PS4's biggest fan. I am just frustrated by people's lack of understanding in regards to the Wii U.

One thing though. The Japanese/Asian region PS4 (which I'll be getting) is not released until the new year, so that is actually over a year after the release of the Wii U. Sorry to be pedantic, but #justsayin'
    Kept you waiting, huh?

When I was an adult, I used to wonder why as grown ups, people (who obviously know a great deal about games considering they have bought games from me on this forum in the past) still seem intent on comparing the Wii U to the forthcoming "real" consoles. It's merely a repetiton of the current-gen. Anybody worth their salt, would realise that you have a "real" console, and you have a Nintendo. To play good games on.
I also had an import super nintendo in school. My main argument originally was that there aren't any interesting or unique franchises on the wii-u right now. nothing tho pique my interest. hopefully that will change but nintendo definitely seem to be resting on there laurels and chruning out some pretty mediocre titles. mario kart again... new super mario brothers again... a sequel to mario 3d land (which certainly wasn't the mario series finest hour).

but this conversation is lame. **** it. the wii u is clearly amazing and nintendo couldn't have done any better than what they've put out both in terms of hardware and software. more of the same please nintendo! congrats!

I know what you mean. But we've seen all of this before. People were convinced that the PSP would smash the DS prior to launch, and look what happened.

Do Nintendo's own games (the real reason for buying any of their systems anyway since it's not 1993 any more) even need more power than the Wii U? Probably not.

I'd call it something awesome like the "Ultra Famicom"
I think the next re-brand should involve Mario bending figure heads from Sony & MS (such as Drake, Sackboy etc. etc.) and forcefully banging them prison style - that would work two-fold, firstly that way there can be no doubt of Nintendo's intentions and secondly it would attract the the masses who crave GTA-style violence (and sodomy for some reason...I could have made this point up)

They should gave put a HD version of AC:NL up at the same time as the 3DS game with cross-saving like MH3U. It'd have sold millions.
          This.

that's not pedantic, that's just incorrect. that's like me going out and buying a wii-u today and saying your argument is invalid due to me only just owning one.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Nintendo are not the Nintendo of olde. They should be bringing more games. However they are not. There is little point in continually bleating on about it, as it isn't going to change anytime soon. They have stated the games will come next year, and so that means that the games will come next year. Luckily for me, I have played little else other than Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate since its release. For me the Wii U is and has been a worthwhile investment. It also cost me only thirty English pences to re-play Super Metroid, which made me smile quite a damned lot.

You do also realise that Xbox One and PS4 are going to be home to sequels too right? The majority of the PS4 launch titles are games we have played before, but with a higher number on the end of the name. Assassin's Creed again, Battlefield again, Call of Duty again again again, FIFA 900 again, Killzone again 2 Turbo again, Madden 4,000,000 again, NBA something or other again, NHL 74 again, Skylanders again.

The FACTS are that its not selling; its got hardly any presence in videogame stockists, has a pish poor 3rd party support, has poor brand identity, a woeful games library in which developers just dont seem interested and is its going to have a terrible time competing for sales when the new consoles come out later this year. You can butter it up any way you wish, but its a dreadful situation which is getting worse.

Sadly, i think all they can do now is look to their next console and really nock one out the park. If the WiiU was going to have decent support, the games would of been announced by now for release or just before the next sony/ms consoles, they haven't, so we can assume that they just aren't coming. Media isn't so much a problem these days with netflix style services, however, games most certainly are.

yeah, of course. I like sequels. I literally cant wait for dark souls 2. it's just that the sequels that nintendo have chosen aren't the sequels that I reckon a lot of the fans would have asked for. I don't know this for a fact but surely, if there were a poll, zelda, metroid and a sequel to mario galaxy would have been on the list, no? I am totally misguided on that one? maybe I am old and my opinion is a lot less relevant than it once was.

the reason i have more confidence in sony this next gen is because a lot of good and interesting new franchises came out on the ps3. the xbox 360 had a pretty dull run this last time around and aside from mario galaxy, the wii didn't really have a lot going on.

I care for games not FACTS. Plus, what you all fail to realise is that following the inevitable drought of games after everybody has played through the ENTIRE PS4 and Xbox One launch selection in only four days is that people will then flock in their MILLIONS to buy a Wii U and the newly released Super Nintendo Brother Go Kart, and say how the "real" consoles are dead becase of a lack of games.
                        Kept you waiting, huh?

I'll tell you a FACT though. When the new Zelda does eventually come out. EVERY single one of you will be falling over yourselves to give Nintendo your hard-earned. Nintendo don't know what they are doing anymore right?
