I would guess most people are playing their Wiis on 1080p displays?
So the TV is upscaling anyway.
So the difference is whether the TV is better than the WiU at upscaling, and whether the hdmi is better than the component.
I would say that I get a much better image from the WiiU on Mario Galaxy 2, only game I have tried, than I do on the Wii, and my Pioneer upscales pretty well, so I reckon it is a pretty poor component output on the Wii.
Edit: Just though, I plugged the Wii on my panny 480p today to grab my mario and zelda saves off it, it was being fed 1:1 and the Wii still looks soft, so definitely reckon a case of the hdmi on Wii U just being better than the component on the Wii.

The new pack is supposed to give between 5 and 8 hours of use compared to 3 to 5 for the regular one. I've only installed and charged it this afternoon so haven't given it a practical test yet.

Nintendo are doing the right thing pricing games online at top whack imho.
If the online content was cheaper it would completely kill off physical media and what is left of bricks and mortar games shops.
We would all be proper moaning then!
Nintendo could charge ?30 for that and still make more on each copy sold than they do selling to retailers, but it would not be good for gamers in the long run imho, have some sort of high street presence is essential for the long term imho.
