There's Pikmin 3 and 101 now non? NSMBU and the Luigi add-on must be decent? Rayman came out today too, and I'd say that the Wii U version is the definitive one given the choice.

I think that's the thing though, it depends on perspective. The WiiU's release schedule compared to PS3/360 is slow and paltry but then for me personally it's enough as the WiiU isn't my main system, I don't need it to have every 3rd party game going and never will. It is poor that the biggest release on it is a GC game but the sunny side up for me is that with tweaks at least it's possibly the best entry. Nintendo's one of those get on board or don't platforms at this point, even when they sold hardware by the bucketloads the schedules were no better and they aren't going anywhere so it's merely the best second platform choice for some. It's weighing the negatives against the positives (or would be if the system cost less). Slow release schedule of mainly Nintendo IP but it has more exclusives scheduled than 360 and still a damn sight more releases than Vita.

Pikmin I have its great. 101 despite the love the demo is getting here, for me it was a complete cluster7*+@? imo even if it was best in genre it's not my kind of game nor is anything I have played from its studio. NSMBU and Luigi i already have alongside a PS3 copy of legends neither of which is close to legends btw but... Legends is better with a button press than a touchscreen (played both).
I already have Lego and Zombi-U and would rather.. (you don't want to know) than play MH so what's left besides Zelda (already preordered) shows the choice problem no?

It really depends on how often you play games. I play the odd bit of Tekken, Pikmin, some VC games and then when Zelda comes out that will take me a while to get through and when that is done you will have a fair few games come Christmas if you don't buy them on other platforms. So if you have it as a single console then it can easily cover your needs.
I think a Wii U coupled with a 3DS is all the gaming you need really.
A lot of people work on a want not need basis however.

I can't see anything that's displaying any kind of depth of challenge with both launch line-ups, it's just a boat load of mainstream set-piece driven hand-holding eye-candy, hardly what I'd deem as 'games'.Last edited by dataDave; 31-08-2013, 06:00.

Valid points all around, but for me MH3U is the best thing ever. If it have been the only single game released since launch, then I still wouldn't have a problem. I'm something of a closet NFS fan, so this high-end Most Wanted that the Wii U was getting had got me quite excited. However had I known about the lack of analog controls, then I'd have just gone with MH from the off as they came out the same day, and not a month later. I was also quite pleased by the seven 30p titles. F-Zero and Super Metroid especially have gotten decent playtime. I got SMW for free from the purchase of everything else prior mentioned, so that's another plus. The chance to finally play Earthbound for a mere ?6 shouldn't be sniffed at either. Wind Waker is an instant D/L for me, as despite owning the GCN version, I only made a small dent in it, and I feel it superior to OoT. No complaints from me thus far. I cannot consume games anywhere like with the speed that I used to. Even the three Wii games I own are overkill IMO, so these slower release dates are welcomed by myself.
I'm still optimistic about Wii U. It'll obviously be home to some classic first-party software. If they don't **** up the implementation of the VC, then it could be a must own console. A near full Nintendo back catalogue in one box under your TV would be amazing. PC's running ROMs I exclude here too.
My main gaming takes place on my 3DS. In two week's time, I'll have a second Japanese unit, which will allow me to play MH4 with a few others from here. I imagine it'll be fantastic if not a little elitest, but im looking forward to that more than anything else. Neither Wii U or PS4 have that kind of draw for me, so I'm taking both of them with a pinch of salt. I still think it wrong to write off a console, because it is not as prolific as the SFC or PS2 was. Times change. It seems many of you forget that.Kept you waiting, huh?

I bought a premium WiiU yesterday as Xtravision is closing down and they had the premium for ?206, basic pack is ?175. Already feeling buyers remorse lol. I really only bought it for the exclusives that aren't out yet lol.
I know I could have gotten one cheaper off eBay etc but wanted to play around with it over the weekend.
Oh... Buyers remorseWhat have I done!
lol

Yeah but they're launch games Dave...the Wii U will have been on the market for a year plus by the time the new systems drop. It's not a fair comparison.
I'm partly leaning towards cancelling my PS4 preorder and getting a Wii U/Mario 3D World bundle, should one appear. The PS4 hardware looks sick, but I'm much keener to play Mario and Pikmin 3 (and MK8 in Spring) than any of the stuff PS4 is launching with. The software just doesn't cater to my tastes right now.
