This, if they could be played with purely the Wii U gamepad it would be a massive step forward.

Yeah, unfortunately the Wii mode is completely separate. Unless they somehow manage to make the gamepad backwards compatible.

Gotta love Nintendo, the release date for Super Mario Word 3D is 29th November... The same day as PS4 in EU, are they really THAT STUPID!!

Ok I'm seriously confused. You can play e.g. Metroid Corruption on the Wii gamepad but you need to use the Wiimote and nunchuck to control still?

Indeedy dudey. Would be a bit awkward with a game like Metroid Prime with all the aiming but something like Xenoblade would suit it well.

I'm def gonna get Mario 3D World despite the date and Sonic Lost Worlds. No hardware bundles, variants, major reveals and a delay pretty much confirm Nintendo have done a Vita and written this year and the race off. Hopefully next year delivers a better roster.

It was nice of them to finally date Scribblenauts Unlimited too but I'd already written that off and ordered its follow up Unmasked from Aus where it's already out. Muppets.

Yes, I loved Mario 3D on the 3DS so can't wait for the Wii U version. Wonder if GAME will have some kind of pre-order bonus.

Sonic Lost Worlds looks really uninteresting to me, but 3D World looks significantly better. Even so, I was kind of hoping to get something for this console that isn't a platformer at this point, since 3D world will be the 4th (and DKCR:TF will be the 5th if I get that). NSMBU and NSLU were alright and Rayman Legends is amazing but they make up 3/7 games in my current Wii U library and I want some other genres. I'm not even fussed anymore about getting another Starfox or F-Zero since I've given up on Nintendo doing anything with those franchises at all outside of Smash Bros, but I'd kill for a space shooter or futuristic racer made by anyone that took advantage of the Wii U's power.
