I haven't even played some of the 'best' like Uncharted or the Batman games. I don't even own an Uncharted game or hardly know what they are about - tried a few minutes at a friends'. I just got the 360 and playing tons of shmups now but so far this should be good enough for now. I've begun many games but these are the one's I remember being addicted to and finishing without pause - possibly even played twice.

    PS3:
    Final Fantasy XIII...
    I finished there.

really hard to name just ten but these are the ones that really stopped me in there tracks and did something new and exciting

Dishonored (criminally underrated, fantastic weapons and amazing game world)
The last of us (overrated but fantastic fun)
Portal 2 (played this many times all the way through cant say that of many games this gen)
Oblivion (while skyrim was technical better this was a lot more fun to explore)
Batman: Arkham Asylum ( much tighter than city and a lot less overwhelming)
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune ( the start of a fantastic series )
Red Dead Redemption ( hunting bears, exploring the old wild west )
Tomb Raider (2013) (return to form for the series)
Gears of War (blew me away by how weighty and fun the coop was been through this on the hardest difficulty too wich is rare for me)
Bastion (story music and narration blew me away)

Never had any issues with it.

Anyway, I thought they patched Bayonetta?

I think Platinum used PS3 as lead console when developing Vanquish so it has no problems whatsoever. It's majestic.

They did patch Bayonetta but it's still ****. No number of patches can help it from being a Sega developed port.

Yes unfortunately there are very noticeable differences between the PS3 and Xbox360 versions. Its a shame too as Platinum should have taken responsibility for putting it onto the PS3 themselves rather than blaming SEGA in every interview afterwards for doing a not too stellar job on the PS3 version. Its still playable though and a fantastic experience, albeit with a lower framerate.

I don't buy that for a second. Lots of good but unspectacular games this gen. So few have really advanced, many are miles too easy to play too. Visuals have papered over the cracks of thin mechanics too many times this gen.

I think in terms of gaming experiences, nothing can come close to this gen. Uncharted 3 in 3D blew my mind, as well as being an excellent game to play.

However, I do think this gen was blighted by the huge amount of 'FPS by numbers' that were released and too many games that although they had nice, shiny graphics, were less fun than having the squits.

Also, we had the emergence of games being released that obviously weren't finished. This could never have happened in the days of cart based systems.

It's an awkward one to judge really. Going back to PS2 the gulf in quality for most genres is huge however what I would say is that things seemed to jump forward until around 2007 and since then its been evolution over revolution. Still, we better get used to it, there's only so many good new ideas in the world.

                            Experiences you say?

Rez was incredible in 2000 and still is today. Ridge Racer full scale was an amazing experience in 1993. Two player DOOM was incredible, as was four player Goldeneye.

                            Don't confuse experiences with graphics.

I liked the event experiment on XBL they did with 1 vs 100 and would like to see this expanded on.

The only one of those that impressed me was the full scale RR, but that was an extravagant ARCADE game. Didn't like any of the other you mentioned.
