A quick question to the more experienced (than me, at least) PS3 users in the forum:

- Can codes included in retail releases (for DLC, dynamic themes, PSN avatars, wallpapers, etc) be claimed by an account from a different region than the one of the retail release?

- If not, after claiming that content with an account from the appropriate region, can it then be used by another account from a different region (on the same PS3, of course)?

I'm thinking of the US release of Journey Collector's Edition and the HK and JP releases of (Lost in the) rain, in particular.

Not sure about the first one but it's a yes to the second one.

I imported the disk for Drakengard 3 and had to buy the US version of the DLC for it to be compatible. I used my UK account to play it. You may need to set the PS3 as the US account's primary PS3.

DLC codes are normally region tied. Don't know about Avatars etc.

The recent discount on Raiden IV: Overkill prompted me to start another digital backlog. With slopes being slippery and all that, I've started eyeing PS3-exclusive digital content that I might be interested in.

From what I read, the only content inaccessible on the US release of Journey Collector's Edition is some exclusive PSN avatars, everything else is on the disk. There are conflicting reports on whether flOw's expansion works with the physical release of the game, though. There isn't much information on the retail release of (Lost in the) rain but I did uncover that Sketcz posts on GameFAQs' forums. Tsk, tsk...

While I'm at it, Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable for the PS Vita is on sale for ?3.99 (down from ?24.99) and the HK version of Dark Mist (which features english text and for which an expansion was released) is down to HK$50, HK$35 if you're a Plus user (from HK$55). The expansion hasn't changed from HK$33.

It doesn't work with mp3s on your Vita. It is the PS1 ROM so it only works with CDs in the PS3. Seen people bitching and whining about the lack of PS4 version and minor quibbles. It is a ROM that is being sold as part of the PS1 Classics section of the store you morons. What do you expect?

I'm sure you know, but the version on the US PSN store is the PAL release anyway.

Good call though. I'm tempted to get the PAL version to go with my NTSC-J version.
