How exciting. Killzone 4. Woo. I just cannot bring myself to be remotely interested. I was speaking to my Dad about it last night. He's out anyway, because it doesn't play CDs, but he questioned why I even want one, let alone need one. It's the safest, most strategically mundane, western-orientated launch in the history of the universe. Right now the XBO looks like a more exciting purchase. Hardware limitations and all. No wonder they aren't launching in Asia yet. They'd never get away with it with the software lineup they're pushing on everyone else.

The strength of the PS4 with me is what goes beyond launch day. For the most part both systems are identical, on Sony's side DriveClub doesn't seem to be tracking well at all or even getting much of a push, Knack seems to have just not struck a cord with people and Killzone is getting good impressions but the general populace seems down on it because of the series it's from. With XBO Forza looks fine if a little reserved following on from F4, Killer Instinct is ok for the price, Ryse is mostly spectacle and Dead Rising looks decent. None on either look astounding as launch games though and once you get past Day 1 you have to be well into Halo and Gears to get much more exclusive wise from Xbox so PS4 is a much more diverse option down the line based on their predecessors. I'm looking forward to trying out Warframe and War Thunder too. I think for the most part my XBO will end up as a CoD machine till MS rolls out something worthwhile post launch, I think Titanfall is worth a gander but there's little else on the horizon for it whereas in some form PS4 has so many series that will get a new entry plus whatever new titles they come up with it's an easy purchase.

There's no way I'd actually buy an Xbox, but the PS4 is looking so surgical that I really cannot justify a purchase. With most launches, you get one good game and a load of tech demos. Here it's just a load of PS3 games with mildly better graphics. There's nothing inside the launch window that I even want to research. It's all so very, very bland. None of these games would sell more than ten copies in Asia, so I'm still holding out that there'll be some import-only titles when it is released overseas. I'm referring to something like a Wangan or Railfan as with the PS3.Kept you waiting, huh?

Luckily there are no PS4 games I want at the moment so no day one for me.
