Have Sony (or Microsoft for that matter) provided any information on how much power the new consoles use? At least an estimate would do. I've currently got a PS4 pre-ordered, but having gone through the launch line up I'm only really after Watch Dogs and Assassins Creed IV, so if its going to make a drastic difference to my electric bills I might hang on for a slim/whatever name they come up with for a new model.

Microsoft have said that the Xbox One uses 14watts when in standby for Kinect to Function and 1/2 a watt when in the lowest power mode.

AMD’s Jaguar is quite power efficient, capable of low single digit idle power so I would expect far lower idle power consumption than even the current slim Xbox 360 (50W would be easy, 20W should be doable for truly idle). Under heavy gaming load I’d expect to see higher power consumption than the current Xbox 360, but still less than the original 2005 Xbox 360.

Compared to the PlayStation 4, Microsoft should have the cooler running console under load. Fewer GPU ALUs and lower power memory don’t help with performance but do at least offer one side benefit.

Didn't Destiny have a closed demo for the media only that showed off quite a fair bit of new in game content though?

not that i know of. the Destiny presentation on the show floor was disappointing, even though they used a big screen cinema. the people waited up to 2 hours in line just to be presented with a 3 minutes dev diary followed by the old E3 gameplay demo. the picture quality was nice on the big screen but the sound was so loud i had to cover my ears to not get deaf. afterwards i approached the devs and told them it would be nice and fair to inform people outside of what was on offer inside.
