Hopefully should be ok, the GT games are generally HID compliant due to the steering wheel support, you'll lose out full dual shock effects and access to the XMB though I'd imagine.

In the UK? I think ShopTo are still taking orders for day one - they've removed the whole "after August 6th" blurb.

GAME are on something like "phase 4" which means they have no clue - and why does that not surprise me?!

I looked at that but I've never heard of the finance company. If it had been Barclays Partner Finance I may have considered it but not now.

Not exactly interesting as there isn't a hell of a lot you can do with them at the moment but some PS4 accessories are already available to buy in shops in the US.

Not really the place to ask, but any chance of AC4 being released along side the current gen versions? Seems this is what is going to happen with CoD and i think BF4. If so i can cancel my preorder with shopto, and go pick it up in Game and use my points (?40 worth)

No disrespect to either of those industry veterans but they're not really the go to guys to ask about technical specifications. If Crytek or id say they're near identical then I'll listen. In short, bull****.

When Xbox One was first announced it had lower specs than PS4, but now they're almost identical
How have Microsoft done this? Must be The Cloud.

                        The Cloud was my thought.

Shinji Mikami may well have been talking about things like system drivers and the development tools as there's been a few reports reports from developers of both being terrible and Sony's being really good. Maybe they've begun to sort that stuff out which puts both systems on a more even footing when it comes to development?

Well The One has a faster CPU, more memory bandwidth from CPU to RAM, can setup more triangles due to higher clock speed of the GPU, more fixed function hardware to free up CPU and GPU resources, greater system memory bandwidth, more DMA engines to move stuff around and help with compression and decompression. And an 8GB flash cache which appears to be reserved for system and OS related stuff.
The PS4 still has the upper hand in terms of the amount of compute units in its GPU but it will need to use some of those resources for stuff that it's rival has dedicated hardware for.

I doubt there will be much in it when developers have a grip on these machines. I think we'll be in for some cracking games in the future.

Yes, I'm aware MS have some tweaks in their system to try and close the gap. Sony have gone the simple raw power route. It's like the opposite of last time.

There was a rumour weeks ago that MS was 6 months behind with their development kits but to be honest I'm more than happy getting both machines and looking at FORZA and dead rising 3 doesn't look like to me that there is a problem
