If you look, the majority of the reviews are amazon verified purchases. So not really. Obviously there'll be some.

In that case it could be that the Foxconn sabotage theory is holding some merit, or the bad packaging by Amazon.

But how many PS4's did amazon sell? I know that I never leave a review myself, unless i'm pissed.

Need for speed looks really fun, I hope it will also have lobbies for just cops chases , as open world is all good and we'll but sometimes I. Just want to get right into the races without driving about . Cheapest I can see it for is ?45

It would be good to update all the launch games and cheapest prices currently around. I found Lego marvel for ?38 from zavvi and a voucher code.

I don't know if you saw the message I left, but when I was watching your stream it had no audio. Was that a setting somewhere you had to check? Other streams seemed to all have audio is all.

As far I know it should have had audio... There were no settings to toggle it.

The reinstall worked fine with BF4, plus everything is backed up on the EA servers so none of my unlocks or progress would be lost.
There's no danger of my console overheating, it's -12 outside right now and I have the exhaust end of the beast facing the window.

I could have picked up my PS4 at 8am on Friday but instead I went to bed, then school, and finally got it about 3.30pm. I, however, did not import, so you can stop worrying about your crown Daryl

Kryss, what are your impressions of PS4, so far?

I mean, if you played BF3 on PS3 or 360, you must be able to notice that boost in res and FPS indicating our next gen leap? Providing you got the 1080p res

Going from BF3 on PS3 to BF4 on PS4 there is a noticeable difference, especially on my 47". I think the boost in framerate is easier to see although I wouldn't say it was 60fps. In fairness, my TV isn't the best but it's enough for my needs.

I think the 900p resolution talked about previously was for when streaming via twitch or ustream, that pretty much fits the size of the screen.

Overall, I'm a little underwhelmed with the launch but not the console. If I hadn't been looking forward to BF4 so much I probably wouldn't have bothered. The interface is uncomplicated, which I like, the PSN sign in issues could have been avoided and put things into the negative right away. BF4 is going to need a patch so that conquest is playable, and to fix the corruption issue. I'm tempted to get Killzone just because, but I'm sure I'll not play it in favour of BF4. Pretty meh.

A few reports of broken pS4s. HDMI cables ports being bent. Apparently Sony can fix some issues when you call them. If not refund or send to Soby to fix but takes 30 days to come back :/. Good to know for the European release, what to do if we get a problem.

We'll see what happens at EU launch. If mine arrives and is fine; no probs. If it's faulty then decisions will be made.

Background downloads and updates are in, that was confirmed back in May.


Just a note for people when they do pick up their PS4's, the machine doesn't queue downloads, so if you started the download of 4 large games at the same time, it will download them all simultaneously and Sony have forgotten to put a pause button in the UI.
So you may only want to do one until that is finished.

Cheers for the tip. Seems they need another update to fix some issues.

Wow that's loud. I really hope the one I get isn't that loud. I couldn't stand another original style Xbox 360, my PS3 40GB I got is near silent all the time!

Sounds like the cooling mechanism from PS3 when you pressed and held the power button. Guess this machine thinks it is too hot. Or it's faulty.

Yep, been hovering over the cancel button all weekend. The US launch has sapped away all enthusiasm as all the hardware and software issues screams 'rush job'. Think I will sack it off for now and get one next year when everything has settled.
