I ordered in February, so maybe it's going from console pre-order date.

I pre orderd mine on February 21st so I'm hoping I'll get to hear something in the next day or two

They make TVs with advertising now? Really?!

I don't think there would be words for my rage if that happened to me after laying down hundreds of quid on a TV. It's bad enough having it on an expensive video games console.

It wouldn't be quite so bad if say, you could have ads and free service. But to pay for live and get ads, that really pisses me off.

We pay loads more for Sky, Virgin, etc, which are stuffed full of ads and no one seems that annoyed. Why should Live be any different? Is it just because we're used to seeing them on TV?

I'm in the same boat - ads on computer-related things I pay for just feel wrong. If an iPhone app I paid for had advertising, or if Netflix started having adverts, I'd get pissed off.

I don't watch(or pay for) live TV, in part because I like to watch things when I want, and in part because I hate adverts. So that doesn't really apply to me, but I do sometimes say when I'm watching it (which is quite rare) that it's ridiculous to have ads when you're paying for it.

I don't watch TV either. I just download my shows from torrents.

Good that Sony have responded so quickly and are actively investigating. I know its those people affected that will be the most vocal when they're a minority but at the same time 10,000 isn't a small number of isolated cases. Sure its small compared to how many total they've shipped but it's still a fair amount of hyped early adopters who are now pretty gutted & perhaps p1ssed off.

The good news is it seems some can be fixed which is something and as long as Sony honour the warranty & aim for a quick turnaround that's all you can ask for.

I've got an Xbox One this Friday and I'm glad I'm getting it locally and not importing like I did (from the UK) when the 360 launched. The most amazing thing about that is I still have that original 360 and it still works!!

Had my email from Shopto saying that orders would start being processed from Saturday 16th but I've yet to see any activity on my internet banking.

Others however have already been charged having received the email *after* the transaction. There's loads of flak on Twitter about poor customer service.

I guess I'm not so bothered as, having yet to be charged, the email has just set in stone the fact I have a machine Day One!!

PS: I realise that comes across as more than a little selfish.

Stop saying Day One, day one is perfectly acceptable.
                          Kept you waiting, huh?

                            boo hoo

Why are they complaining, because they've been charged for their preorders? Isn't that how it works....?

It appears my phone has taken to auto-capitalising the words "Day" and "One".

A quick check also reveals "fRom" is in my user dictionary.

I suggest launch day. Like how we used to say for every other console launch known to man.
