Can you check their gearings too? can really make a massive difference on a track by track basis, especially if it has a few slow corners.

"With the summer heating up the Hot Wheels Car Pack has arrived in Forza Motorsport 5, full of sweetheart rides to add to your car collection. The Hot Wheels Car Pack brings a slew of cars, including models that will match up well against cars you may already have in your garage, as well as some new rides that are sure to broaden your Forza 5 experience. It’s fair to say that no car exudes “exotic” like the 2013 Lamborghini Veneno. Could this ultimate example of Italian automotive genius be the king of hyper cars? Take it for a spin on Long Beach, Road America, or (gulp!) the N?rburgring and find out for yourself.
Not to be outdone by the Lambo, the other cars in the pack have plenty to be proud of. Without a doubt the 1939 Audi Auto Union Type D and the 1952 Ferrari 375 add uncommon beauty to the assortment of early open-wheel rides. The 1967 Lotus Type 49 is just itching to match up against the Brabham BT24, and the 2013 Mazda #7 Andretti Autosport USF2000 is now part of the open-wheel ladder. Not to be outdone, the 1974 Celica GT brings more historic JDM, and the latest compact Audi is ready to throttle up. And of course, there is even more.
For a closer look at the rest of the pack, check out the trailer."

Just got a One and managed to get the game for a good price on the Forum, so went VIP and Car Pass. Excluding your first car, I have bought 2 cars Mini Cooper S and Elan, plus another to use the 100 Tokens. I now have 131 cars though the Gifts have given me 5 duplicates.
The difficulty level, to my mind seems somewhat random. I went with Above Average and was OK on the first set of races, the vintage with the Cooper S proved tricky. There did seem to be some elastic banding, as I had a good lead and was caught up on the last lap. I tried the easiest difficulty and had one car drive away from me at a rapid rate.

Relatively recent to this as I only got the One with Destiny. Still putting in a little time with this (and Horizon 2) due to other purchases.
My Rewards give me 2.1 million now which is rather useful.
I try to get a level a day (re-running the Indy Oval Race a couple of times a day). I hit Level 180 this morning! Getting my Chevy Affinity up now on that Indy race.
What is it with the warning triangles on the lap times. I know they have always been rather easy to get. Are the developers totally incapable of sensible collision detection? I can do a clean lap (no wall contact) without touching another car and that annoying triangle will appear. I won't even mention the infamous Forza grass or the pit entry road on that Indy track which is as bad as the grass. Forza does let itself down in some respects.
Going VIP when I first got the game plus car pass meant that I got all the Gift Cars (in a hurry) and the DLC cars. Somewhat surprised to get the Aussie V8 Supercars Ford the other day as a Gift from Turn 10.Last edited by Bassman; 24-11-2014, 10:31.

There's no point in trying for TTs in races unless you can get out in front on the first lap. Any drafting will give the warning triangle, and the drafting starts from a long way back, so you are instantly stuffed if you have to overtake someone on a flying lap. They are best off being approached as a "rivals" attempt.

Ah didn't know that about drafting Charles, suppose in the scheme of things it's right as it's an advantage to the lap time.
I enjoy Forza 5 but it is very sterile as someone said in another thread, doing a championship early on in the Atom thing was a nightmare, thought that vehicle handled awfully and almost put me right off the game, been chipping away at it since, up to about level 35 I think now. Buying it at the same time as FH2 there's only one winner in the fun stakes by a mile.
