Bubbles this isn't Neo/SonyGaf, If you're going to say something like that at least point out what the differences are if you care that much.

Anyway Tomb Raider runs at 1080p on both and even the framerate on the PS4 version isn't locked at 60. I'm personally not sure MGS Ground Zeroes running at 720p is an actual indication of what the system is capable of when you look at what Crytek did day one.

There's going to be some great looking games on both systems in the next few years.

Good points. My view is that I would have imported an XB1 and paid the extra if there had been no Kinect, but the GPU/Memory/CPU was stronger than PS4. I don't represent the majority, but I wanted the strongest next gen console, regardless of price.

The reality is Ryse though isn't it. I feel in all the dram of resolutiongate, this particular creation from Crytek has been overlooked. I was spending time last night checking some pictures and captures from that game. I'd say that in terms of water and vegetation this is the best game on next gen consoles. (Crytek really do a great job of nature.) For multiplats the discussion is fair, generally speaking the games are better on PS4 but that is also because the games are optimised for PC archiecture, and the XB1 will never compete with PS4 without xbox specific optimisations.

My point is, gamers should not only agree that games will look great on XB1, but also acknowledge that Ryse as a XB1 specific title, is already one of the best looking games out there.





There will therefore be AMAZING looking games to follow an already released AMAZING looking game....

So it will again be all about the gameplay.

@originalbadboy - By that logic though, developers should all just stick with the PS3 and 360. After all, there's nothing that the next gen consoles can do that the previous gen consoles couldn't do at a lower resolution, lower framerate, no AA, closer draw distance, inferior lighting etc.

Define 'better' ... If better means better framerates and higher resolution then why are any of us even bothering with consoles anymore. If there is a serious technical issue that prevents a game from running properly (Bayonetta & Skyrim on the PS3 for example) then you could define that as better ... If the XB1 version of BF4 was restricted to 32 players or something like that I would define that as better (for the PS4)...

Better is extremely subjective.

Oh come on ... Like bigger worlds, better physics .. There is plenty a previous console could not do ... Neither would have managed 64 player BF4 for starters, and that was a launch title.

Guess we should all get a gaming PC and forget about these new fangled 'consoles' then as whats the point?

XBL is better than PSN ... There is a hell of a lot of people that would call that statement subjective.

When it comes to multiplatform games that are identical in terms of content and features, the only point of comparison is technical performance. Smoother, sharper graphics are obviously better. There's nothing subjective about 1080p being better than 720p.

You can want a console with the best performance without wanting a PC, too. I'll never own a gaming PC, so I'm picking from what's available on the console market. I don't own a next gen system yet but PS4 is looking much more attractive thanks to its beefier computing power.

Even if the difference in framerate or resolution makes no difference to you when you're playing games, to me and others on here it does make an appreciable difference, even if it's only slight

I read through this thread and I picture a few people here being people that have contributed towards that. Sony's evangelist's have done an incredible job this gen. I swear it is only a matter of time until there is a murder related to console fanboyism.

No you don't .. I routinely say 'Xbox Off' followed by 'Yes' and it works fine .. As long as you say yes after a couple of seconds it works every time.

You may remember me gleefully taking the piss out of those who were silly enough to buy a xbox one. You may recall me taking the mickey out of those who had bought ryse. The microtransactions, the crappy use of kinect and much, much more. I was a troll who gleefully bit at anyone who bit back, and there were many of you.

I stand before you today, a hypocrite. I picked up a xbone with titan fall, fifa and pkants vs zombies last week. I've since aquired several other games including ryse, dead rising 3 and crimson dragon. I can genuinely say that while the xbone is clearly the weaker console, i'm enjoying it far more than the ps4. Titanfall and pvz have reignited my interedt in a genre i previously hated, while dead rising 3 is great silly fun.

I'm a convert who realises the errors of his ways. I'll gladly stand beside you my xbone brothers. Providing of course that you'll have me.
