There is something very borked about the Xbox one installs. There is no good reason it should be taking that long from the disc.

Yeah article says the time includes the patch
The xbox requires the patch to download before an install can start, where as the ps4 dosnt and downloads and installs patches in the background. The 10% power reserved for the xbox OS must not be used to help the install.Last edited by Lebowski; 27-11-2013, 20:30.

You can choose not to do the update and just install the game, then it will do the update whilst you play.
If you choose to download the patch, it won't become ready to play until the patch and the minimum data is installed.
Bear in mind that if it is a multiplayer game and an update is available, then you won't be able to play a multiplayer game until the patch is downloaded on either machine.
I'd presume that the reason the games are taking longer is that MS have mandated something somewhere.
If Microsoft had have inlcluded data management, then we'd be able to see exactly how much had been installed.

Xbox checks for update it then downloads the update and once finished starts the gameLast edited by Lebowski; 27-11-2013, 21:51.

It's all dependent really. Ryse truly is the best looking game on either system. Not sure I'd say it's better than Killzone though. At the moment there's little difference between the two. XBO has the better launch day exclusives whereas PS4 has the better multiplatform ports generally. If I could only have one based on the systems themselves then I see no reason at all (other than to own platform exclusives or your friends list) to pay extra for an XBO instead of buying a PS4 though. Sony has the better machine this time. However, blth make a great first impression and I don't regret either.

This will change I'm sure as the devs get up to speed, but I'm definitely not seeing a massive leap from our current consoles.

Your having a laugh aren't you lol ryse is this generations rise of the robots, all flashy graphics and no substance.
come 12 months you will be able to pick it up for about a fiver as the preowned shelves will be full of em.

So ? That's always the case with most games these days , never mind launch titles.
Well I'm more than happy with both . But so far MS has the better games and by far the better joypad . XBox One dash is a bit of letdown though and for me worse than the 360 and in many ways a step backwards - I hope MS improves it soonbut I'm definitely not seeing a massive leap from our current consoles.
