Its strange you guys are having long delays to install stuff. The Fifa14 download only took me about 15 mins and i have put the Ryse disk in and it completley installed, patch and all in about 10-15mins too. Are you using a wired or wireless connection?

Mine didn't take long until it was "ready to play" 5 minutes?
But then it took about 15 minutes to install the campaign before I could actually play it.

Battlefield was the one that got really confused, I wanted to play multiplayer but it insisted on installing after campaign and seemed to take an age.

FIFA hit 30% and seems to be up and running.

Is PS4 same as this? I recall reading PS4 does an install of disc to a point then caches the rest as you play. Feels like XBO cajoles you into full installs which means the hard drive isn't gonna last long

Ps4 does the same thing, partial install then background install.
Depends very much on the game and how it's been made.

Bah, same thing next Friday then. Fifa seem to be running fine, no bloody clue what I'm doing though

Wow this downloading and patching is hogging all the interwebs bandwidth... I'm struggling to load simple web pages on my phone...

I think I'm going to be buying physical copies of games, if this downloading of games continues to cripple my tinternet connection for long periods of time... Saying that though, I'm impressed with how quiet it runs...

Anyone have another retailer they recommend with decent prices (and preferably day early delivery)? Tempted to give GAME another shot.
I ordered Ryse of gameseek for the first time and it arrived this morning
The same happened to me with shopto as I orderd tearaway and they only dispatched it today but they got my xbox one and games to me on time so I think they were a bit stretched this week and next week with the ps4

I just tried the playing Super Street Fighter 2 HD via 360 with the HDMI in and it plays horribly.
It felt like playing with a ping of 400!
So I guess the HDMI in is really best reserved for Sky or cable boxes...

With game install sizes already so big, and only going to get bigger (both consoles support 100GB Blu-Ray discs), it's probably sensible for most people to stick to physical games - we will be deleting our installs eventually after all, and they will be a pain to redownload.

Discs aren't hoping anywhere shy time soon.

Just put in a game after messing about and and install is needed, i really hate all this crap, I played my neo CDZ yesterday and those were the days, load the disc and play, all these updates are the sad state of modern gaming.

Updates are a pain in the arse, but we're ultimately better off because of them.

Developers can fix their games now. In the past, bugs stayed unfixed. It's even more critical now that games are more complicated under the hood than ever.

Exactly what I thought when I loaded up Killer is Dead the other day.
