Its not even a HD update really since its runs at HD on the 360 and PS3 .

?49.99 for a straight port of a game from last year??? If ps4 and Xbone are close to pc hardware, then what have they actually done to warrant ?49.99???
Its just an extension to the multi platform . I don't think this is meant for people who already have the game, but rather for ones that own the new systems and may have missed out on TB and are looking for something new to play on their systems in the lull ones gets just after a console is launched.

It's not really anything new. I just wish the next Gen version were running at 60 fps and 1080p that would be a huge deal imo

Were the PS360 versions true 1080p? Not likely. Either way it's a lot of cash. ?30 would have been fair imo.

720p which I gather can be classed as the High Def standard

Depends really . I mean its happened before be that on the Wii U, DC, Saturn, PS, PS2 where you're paying full price for games that have come out before on older systems with the basic upgrade of graphics and sound (and the odd bit of content) .

In the old days games prices used to generally hold for much longer.

Thats not the case today, and a ?38 premium over whats already available doesn't cut it for me.

Deus EX directors cut is the perfect example of doing it right.

Maybe in the Mega Drive days , but not so much in the Saturn and more so the DC and XBox era . And tbh I really didn't mind paying full price for the likes of Rayman, Soul Reaver, Resident Evil 3, Dino Crisis on my DC. In fact I never seem to remember an outcry then when the likes of Tony Hawks Spiderman, RE 2 were ported to the DC and were we all charged full price or far more than what they were selling for on the DC

Just seems people forget what happened in the past and the rose tinted classes do their job :P . Well maybe there was a bit of an outcry with Core lazy DC port of Tomb Raider The Last Revelation lol

Stop banging on about rose tinted glasses. It's about as much fun as smashing yourself in the face and as relevant as Jamie Redknapp's opinions on football.

I guess sales will tell the truth. It should be an upgrade path, especially if your coming from the same brand machine.

Otherwise its a huge double dip.

Why . Some of the retro heads might bang on about the glory days and knock the next gen (using games like this) . Some of us all too well remember games from older systems being brought out the then newer systems and us being charged full price to play them, even Tomb Raider on the DC for added irony .

It wasn't just on the DC too, but on other systems like the Saturn (Earthworm Jim 2) , PS (Mickey Mania) , Worms Saturn and PS , Road Rash, Need for Speed on both the Satun and PS , PS 2 with ports of the likes of Crazy Taxi , Burnout on ,XBix GTA 3 XBox, Metal Gear Soild 2 XBox , MonkeyBall Delux on the XBox , or even back in the 16 bit days us Mega Drive and Snes had to pay full price to play ports of the likes Lotus 2, Shadow of The Beast, Speedball 2 and so on .

Nothing new now or back then

It's TA. If someone dares to criticize anything about the glorious Next-Gen it's "rose-tinted glasses" and "people seem to forget the Dreamcast/NES/Spectrum/C64/whatever launch". In every thread.

Yep. And not once did we say it was better or more acceptable now.

It's only a double dip if you buy it twice.

I have no idea why there would need to be an 'upgrade path'. You've already got it - play that and don't buy this.

I havent got it...if i decided to get it it would have been on steam for a fiver recently.

                                TressFX and all.

My point being many people already played this...its a cheap cash it at a premium price.

Also, you really have no idea why there would be an upgrade path, when out of the launch titles available COD/BF4/AC4 all have cheap upgrade options for a tenner!?

I think that tells its own tale.
