I really don't see it that way. Yes, many people, have played it - they don't need to buy it. Of those who haven't, they can do what you would do and buy it cheap on other systems. Or they can choose to buy it on their fancy new next gen console with more strands of hair at full price because it's a new release to those systems. Because some have or can buy it on other consoles cheaper is no reason to sell it at a budget price on a whole other system.

I think that CoD, BF and AC all have this upgrade thing as the next-gen versions launched so close to the current gen ones and they didn't want to piss off people who would double dip re: multi-player progress.

Tomb Raider came out back in Feb so that's long enough to not have to worry. Also, the multi-player didn't set the world alight so the player base isn't there to anger.

        I disagree...

Months before release its being flogged for a fiver on steam, and about ?12 on ps3/360?

        Wait for figures.

They dangled the upgrade option to next gen buyers already...tomb raider is no different to COD/BF4/AC4 in this respect.

If they intend to deliver these last gen make overs, charging full rrp is ridiculous given the upgrade options laid out upon next gen launch.

Zelda WW HD only got away with it because its an absolute classic, and its been over ten years since it was released.

It wont bother me dont get me wrong, i didnt buy tomb raider at full rrp, i didnt buy it at a fiver on steam, and ot goes without saying i wont bother on ps4. Possibly when its peanuts after a month.

Guts I was just responding to comments like this

Hooray for next gen! Now we can play all our beloved PS3 and 360 games AGAIN with prettier graphics! Yay innovation! Saves also the trouble of actually making new games.
And just pointing out that its nothing new and has happened before, even the so called 'classic generation' , that's all . Teams and corps can quite happily push out a better port to a new machine , while the main team on working on the next edition to the series too.

people seem to forget the Dreamcast/NES/Spectrum/C64/whatever launch". In every thread.
You seem to be doing a good job of it , in your effort to knock the next gen .

So what about Zelda on the Wii ? . Some how that was ok even though all it added was a Widescreen mode . Some here even said RE 0, RE 4 was worth getting on the Wii too and all they added was piss poor motion controls and didn't touch the graphics and I don't think they were any cheaper , nor was the joke that was Dead Rising on the Wii .

                That was a dual release.

                The remote controls were superior.

So how does that make it any better ?

Maybe for you , I found it added nothing to the game

                  They were
I seem to remember them being plus ?30, the same was true for the Pikmin 2 on the Wii . Same goes for the ports of the likes of RE 2, Rayman, Soul Reaver to the DC ECT,ECT.

I think Dave's point is Twilight Princess released simultaneously on Gamecube and Wii so it's no different to FIFA releasing on PS3 and PS4, it's not like it wasn't making the most of the Wii.

And I think those games and New Play Control: Pikmin were RRP ?30, I paid ?9 and ?16 for Pikmin and Pikmin 2 on Wii so they were cheaper than the ?40/50 RRP of contemporary Nintendo releases retailing at ?20+.

Its not quite the same . Zelda TP could be played on both the Cube or the Wii . And Tomb Raider coming out for the PS4 or XBone One is not different from TB coming out of the DC or the some of the Splinter Cell games coming out latter to formats like the PS2 or Cube ; and that's my point , its ways happened

That's a cop out . Most people who look won't be full price for TB on the XBox one or PS4 -already there deals out there

You view and fair enough . To me the GameCube pad was so much better than the Wii Pad

Out of interest, did you prefer playing Virtua Cop with the pad over the gun?

Even at full price is it that bad? Personally I wasn't a gamer in the Gamecube games so I loved the New Play Control games, I think The Wind Waker HD is the best game on Wii U by a distance and I'd kill for a similar port of Okami.

I really don't see a problem with bringing games to an audience who missed them, price shouldn't be an issue if classics like Okami or Resident Evil 4 are worth ?40 on the newest console first time around they surely don't cease to be worth that when they're ported to newer consoles or incase of the Wii consoles that couldn't make it look better anyway? And to the credit of publishers they rarely are full price releases, the HD port of RE4 on 360 I think was ?20, Jet Set Radio HD was ?10 (I got it in a sale for about ?5 so not sure)?

I'm buying Rayman Legends on Xbox One simply because there's no much else to use it for, I'd buy Tomb Raider to be honest (but like on 360 I won't because I don't enjoy online multiplayer and I don't want 50% complete achievements for a game I completed to it's fullest in single player).

There already is HD Okami, and it looks absolutely marvelous.
