GOTY 2013 Discussion

Don't own a PS3 or WiiU so options are pretty limited! Only PC game I've bought is BF4, and although a great game it doesn't deserve to win any award other than "worst piss take of the year".

On 360, GTA5 has been the most impressive but I actually enjoyed Tomb Raider the most.
AC4 on Xbox One has also been really good so far, I'm not a massive way into yet but it has potential to be one of the games of the year (which after the dreadful AC3 is a good turnaround for the series).

Another shout for One Finger Death Punch actually, what a fantastic little game that is!

Been a tough year this year for games I think. DMC, Bioshock and Tomb Raider was great too but I just like the 4 above more. Plus with NBA i've gone a little out of the box.

Not played WW HD, W101, GTAV proper at all yet so can't include them

Super Platform Puzzle Deluxe is amazing. One of the best games this year.

Not finished them but now I've played the latest releases it's looking like GTAV, Mario 3D World, Rayman Legends, Tomb Raider and maybe LoU are roughly my top five. Not sure what order though, probably LoU fifth as though decent the others are staggeringly better games than it.

I haven't got round to Mario 3d World yet - was saving it for crimbo, but am beginning to cave in

So far:

The Last of US - one of the best games I've played fullstop
Tomb Raider - excellent. it's rare times that a game surprises me and exceeds all expectations, but Tomb Raider did
Shadowrun Returns - just to be different :P and because I love isometric rpgs and tore through this in a few sitting. Loved the setting, atmosphere and characters - almost everything about it. Written text > voice acting in every way when delivering a story

It?s odd as whilst people and press talk about what games are the GOTY, I?m still actually waiting to play a few titles that?ll probably form my game of the year top 3.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Rayman Legends

Those are the games that I think will form my list, but aside from Tomb Raider, Animal Crossing and The Last of us, I?ve not played the others! GT6 will probably be in my possession soon, I?ve asked for WRC 4 and Tearaway for Christmas and I love the look of Rayman Legends but I?ve not picked it up yet.

2013 has been an odd one. In my opinion, there?s been few releases that are classics or of brilliant quality, I spent the first half of the year playing some great games from last year like Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection & Uncharted 3 and the second half was me experiencing the brilliant back catalogue of the PS Vita and picking up a US N64.

I imagine the Top 3 will be Gran Turismo 6, Tearaway and WRC4, in that order. Although The Last of us might intrude in on one of them!

Was easily The Last of Us...but it was pipped at the post by Assassins Creed 4 (ps4)

It is GTA V x Far Cry 3 + Pirates - Bloat / Rockstars awful storytelling.

I have played so little this year but I have put almost 400 hours into Animal Crossing so it would be wrong of me to nominate anything else. Loved Link Between Worlds too.
