I have to say i'm over the moon with my Wii U. The interface has that quirky Nintendo charm, and looks fantastic at 1080p. I particularly liked the animation for migrating the data off my wii. I wish the interface had more snap though. I sometimes wonder what its actually doing as it can be slow to respond. Hopefully its something they can improve.

Its also a shame the wireless used for the game pad isn't better. As soon as you walk out the same room as the wii u it cuts out. I can happily use remote play to my pas4 on the vita from any room in the house.

Overall though I can't wait to get stuck in.

I agree. Great little piece of kit. MK8 helps things of course. Shame about the range of the pad.

neostar the interface has been updated and sped up. Was twice as slow before.
Some people seem to get better range with the gamepad than others. All depends on walls and line of sight to the actual console.

So far I only have MK8 and Wind Waker HD. I have 2 ?10 Argos vouchers and ?26 CEX credit. What games can you guys recommend?

Also what's good for a 4 and 5 year old? Would New Super Mario Bros be easier then Super Mario 3D?

Monster Hunter and NES Remix are considered to be great also but MH isn't my thing and I've not tried the Remix's yet. The Avengers Battle for earth game isn't great but I think game sell it for a fiver so if your kids are into Marvel its great for them.

Only other games id mention if you have not played them on another platform are

Assassins Creed 3/4
Darksiders 2
Mass Effect 3

These are complete games with DLC or cheaper than other platforms so if you want to play them then Wii U is great for cheap gaming.

Need For Speed is also worth a mention. Wii U version is probably the best due to the extras you can see/do with the gamepad.

Oh and Nano Assault Neo on the eShop. A twin stick shooter like Super Stardust series but much more fun.

Have a look on the Eshop too, a few games do have demos on there.

Wii U sales were up roughly 700 percent last week, with 88% being the mario kart system bundle, so maybe this was the killer title needed , lets see what next weeks sales are like, but its certainly my favouriite game this year.

If you have MK8 & you go for the free game offer, do you get a download code for the free game sent to you & if so is it possible to sell it the code on in some way?

It won't last. Nintendo need a constant stream of titles (1st and 3rd party) to keep up with MS and Sony. E3 (or their roadshow thing) needs to be epic with dates for stuff like Smash Bros, Zelda and Bayo2 to hopefully stop thise that bought the machine for MK8 getting bored and selling it after a few months months.

The system also needs a decent presence on the high street and seeing as Game are the only retailer with seemingly more than two titles in stock for it I don't see that happening either.

It's good to see the game sell consoles and for it to chart well but it's a blip.

You can sell the code as it's not tied to your account. You would have to redeem the CN code and then pick one of the games to get the code.

If you were going to sell then I wouldnt redeem the code until you know what title is wanted by the buyer.

Monster Hunter is not impressive. Sluggish and lazy graphics. The 3DS version impressed me much more.

Rayman is ?15 in game. New.

Whilst it is pleasing to hear 800% of a pitifully low number is still nothing. E3 should see another console surge......hopefully.

Yeah, it was nice to read that despite the low install base Mario Kart 8 was the franchises second biggest launch too. Nintendo beed to announce some appealing games at E3 and plug Mario Kart hard all summer. Hopefully that would ride them out till Smash Bros at Xmas. If they had a full on 3D Mario lined up after that of Galaxys scale then that could see the system revived enough to make it through this gen

lol that must have been painful. I will stop complaining then.

The problem with the gamepad is probably due to it being on the shelf of a wooden TV stand in between my PS4 and Sky box. If I moved it on top of the TV stand I would probably see a big difference.

Zelda at E3? That could help a bit. 3D Mario titles don't seem to hold the same draw that they used to these days. Galaxy 1 and 2 sold far less than NSMB Wii, and speaking anecdotally 3D World didn't seem to drive many Wii U sales at all. Hardly anyone on here bought it for that, but loads have done for MK8.
