The state of Wii U is perfectly fine for me. Few games here and there that I want. Long as Nintendo are happy with that then it's all good. I suspect they are not happy with that though.
I strongly believe that if Nintendo had made MK8 for PS4 and XBox One then they'd have sold about 12 million copies already.

I suspect that Nintendo are not in any way happy about the giant flop of the Wii U.
Yeah they would Brad, no doubt. But is becoming a multiplatform publisher a better long term strategy than persisting with end-to-end control of hardware and software? Iwata has said no, and I tend to agree with him. There's a lot written about the death of Nintendo, but this is their only real hardware flop since 1993 or thereabouts, and they have plenty of cash to release their next system with.
And J0e...'a game so amazing it was outsold by Watchdogs'? That's a weird statement, sales figures aren't usually an indicator of qualityLast edited by wakka; 03-06-2014, 12:13.

Miyamoto's new game has been in development for quite a while now so we may see something at E3 next week. After that I think we may see a new Metroid from Retro Studios and maybe a glimpse of a new Zelda that may still be some way off.
The Wii U is all about quality over quantity but having said that I don't see much of a future for the format beyond another few years.

Unless it isn't available otherwise.Last edited by speedlolita; 03-06-2014, 12:34.

MK8 sales are not cute at all. The reality is that people have been so desperately waiting for a new game that, they automatically run out and purchase anything new en masse. In two week's time, everyone will go back to asking why Nintendo haven't made a new Starfox, or where F-Zero is. However, it's ok because as you stated "Nintendo couldn't care in the slightest about such nonsense".Last edited by Jaz; 03-06-2014, 14:34.

Nintendo stating something along the lines of "We'll continue supporting the WiiU" not so long back said it all really...They will make a few games for it, but they wont turn its fortunes around.
I have kept mine since buying it, and have used it for about 12 hours total, with 8 of those on MK8.
The only way around the WiiU failure now imo is selling the console gamepad free with possibly a pro controller in its place, as cheap as possible, and developing a few more of their franchises before they become irrelevant with the kids of today.
The way it is now is fine with us older gamers, and certainly their games are desirable...but they are running the risk of only having Mario/zelda/smash bros as guaranteed success stories.
They did make pikmin 3 so there is still hope.
