Having a PS4 is the only way to play those games on the bog (Vita remote play). Argument over, console war won lol.

It's a totally pointless argument though. Like, my console is better than yours? Errrrr because it is? *waves dick*
Just pointing out that if nintendo are willing to release a 2ds, then a wiiU with a pro controller instead of the gamepad is a possibility...
Yeah those games are on old gen machines, but for bf4 in particular i wouldnt even want to try it on ps3/360, such is the scale of the game on ps4....same for ac4 which actually has a stable framerate and 1080p.
Point taken mind.

I think WiiU has been the final lesson for me in teaching me it's time to not buy a Nintendo console in year one of its life, I love it but considering the discounts available with a thorough look and those likely due to arrive in the coming months it wasn't a good investment for the price its aimed at. However, after a few weeks caning 7 I'm very much looking forward to Mario Kart 8

It's not an investment, an investment is something that will grow in value over time
And I'm not confident in the Wii-U's third-party support because it's not the Wii

Kid - No, we have a Wii.

Kid - It's just a Wii but you can play games on the tablet.
Mum - Oh right, well we have an iPad so I guess we do not need to buy that
I also had this just yesterday. I had to explain to my firend what a Wii U was. She thought it was just a controller that attached to your Wii. I also think that having to explain that although the Wii remotes work it, is a new machine.
The fact that Nintendo did not think ths through and make the actual machine stand out is part of the problem. Massive pictures of the controller and nothing else. I remember at E3 the adverts just showing the controller and virtually ignoring the machine.

I've lost count of the people that I had to explain Wii U to. But then I also have had to explain 2DS as a lot of my friends thought I was talking about the DS. Nintendo have really lost their way with marketing. And maybe naming consoles. But regardless I never regret buying a Nintendo machine if just for the exclusives I would be happy.

With microsoft and sony you at least know for a fact that games are going to roll in thick and fast.
Without big 3rd party support though, what value can any console really be?...especially with 1st party titles so slow to trickle out.
Even at ?200 for WiiU, its still ?200 for something that isn't guaranteed to be on shelves by the time the year is out, by which time the others will be fully established and pumping out games ten to the dozen.

The argument about spending that much on hardware is because by the time the truly decent stuff comes out those consoles should be a fair bit cheaper. So buying them now for the sake of early adoption is silly. Fair enough, although there will still be great games coming out this year for both consoles.
I'm no stranger to backing the wrong horse, having owned a Saturn and Dreamcast, so I've no problem with getting value from a 'dead' console.

Devs might think 3D is less important if there are tons of 2DSs doing the rounds but 2D has been available on the 3DS since the beginning so they're are already acquainted with it.
Whatever people's opinions of the gamepad, it's an integral part of the Wii-U experience. The Wii-U is the gamepad.
