That would be nice. There's nothing wrong with the games they're putting out.

The 3DS had exactly the same problem as the WiiU a while back & Nintendo managed to turn that right around, bit premature to declare that they should stop & write it off. The main problem is games, there's just not enough of them & maybe a proper advertising campaign to actually show what a WiiU is as they didn't exactly do a good job at that.

Then again everyone loves to spout doom & gloom when it's Nintendo, although shouldn't they be already gone from everyones predictions when the DS & Wii came out? lol

Indeed. I've been listening to what Nintendo "should do" since around 1993.

Not really the 3DS was still selling in good numbers and outselling and outclassing it's rivals and also had wide retail and 3rd party support ,not the case with the Wii U at all and another 'price cut' isn't going to help matters at all unlike on Handhelds kids & adults are now getting used to playing On-Line and playing games on the 360/PS3 or PS4 or XBox 1 and not the Wii U .

Wii U problems are very much like VITA's in many ways

If it was selling in such good numbers why did they have to slash the price so hard & then release the ambassador system to prevent alienating the early adopters? Thr reason was it wasn't selling far near enough, it's the games & nothing more without good games theres no reason to pick one up. Only once the good ones started appearing did the system sales start to pick up, the WiiU has a few good games but nowhere near enough.

PS Vita has exactly the same problem as Wii U. Distinct lack of games is harming it.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

It just wasn't selling as well as the old NDS and that was part of the problem. It was selling well just not as much as NCL had hoped I guess

Price cuts do not make good games do they ?. Price cuts are a short term fix and the Wii U had one and it only made a short term boost and what the next big game Mario Kart ? That's just 1 game and months away. Not good enough at all

the WiiU has a few good games but nowhere near enough
Its not just that it doesn't have 3rd party support, it way behind The XBox One and PS4 on specs and Nintendo is so far behind XBox Live and PSN on the online side of things it's not even funny .

Can not believe datadave is still defending this heap of ****.

                  It's crap dave!

They've released a console with 2006 graphics with no quirky controller simple enough for the family types to get.

There may be a few decent games but the mainstreams not impressed at all.

I think they should have just done a 'Wii HDMI edition' for 720p support in 09 then had a proper rethink regarding their next console.

Nintendo need to redesign everything. Their online is poor, hardware is weak.

If they had something Xbox One level of power last year with a normal pad and better third party I feel things could be different.
They should be trying to court EA and co regardless of their products being good or not. They are big sellers.

Whys this? Because of another mario kart or zelda game?

On the plus side, I'm liking Nintendo's new 60fps at 1080p approach and Mario Kart 8 plays well and looks stunning.

If I'm being honest I'm still not feeling Smash Bros 4 but I think it's because nothing different from Brawl has been shown and I was a bit disappointed with that entry. We're certainly in for a very interesting E3 this year though.

Played the Mario 3d world demo in a store today and that game alone has me won over, utterly. Soon as the console drops in price a a bit more im jumping in.

The one thing I've learned from this thread, is that there sure are so many experts here, who seem to know exactly how to manage a multinational, billion dollar corporation! Maybe Nintendo should hire Team Andromeda as their next CEO?
