    Are there any alternatives to FIFA and Winning Eleven? In the PS days there used to be loads of football games. Sad that there are so few now. Even the PSP had the fun but not outstanding World Tour Soccer

        No, there isn't.

        Yes, there were loads during the PS days, things like Actua Soccer were brilliant in the beginning, even games like '3 Lions' and Adidas Power Soccer were ok at the time...but once Konami released the PES series (first combining it with ISS), all other games fell away. None could compete. Not even FIFA. FIFA only stayed around due to EA's deep pockets and endless licenses, which was always an attraction to the casual football fan who didn't appreciate that PES was the better game. Thankfully though, FIFA did stay around or we'd all have to be playing PES today in it's tattered state.

        BUT...I think we're getting off topic really here guys....Lets' stick to the total ineptitude of Konami and how they treat their paying customers. That is the disgrace here, that is what we should concentrate on...they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

          I guess the issue now is that licenses are so important. People want proper leagues, teams and players, and it's not difficult to understand why.

          Exclusive licenses should really be made illegal because it's anti-competitive and creates the kind of monopoly that we seen with the genre now. The fact that EA own exclusive rights to so many licenses is bad for the industry - we can see that is has seriously limited options in most major sports genres.

            Why should they be though, I'm sure EA took the risk (way way back) in the franchises infancy and paid the money then for the licences, why should they give them up just because the other companies thought it was not important at the time and now they are more popular they want a slice. I'm no EA fan but if they took the risk at the time why should they share, would Sega share Sonic or Nintendo share Mario its the same principal its how they built up their brand through sports.

                You're confusing ip creation with licensing. EA didn't invent the football team and footballer names (so limiting your Sonic/Mario allegory), they licensed the use of them. EA showed foresight and had money to spend when they licensed them, granted, but it's being argued that the long-term monopolistic licensing of them is anti-competitve because most players want to play as their team or build a team with their dream players, thus without the license, other football games are not viable due to the diminished audience.

                  Because it stifles competition and creates a monopoly situation. They wouldn't be giving up the licences, they'd simply be forced to compete based on the quality of the product rather than licences that go to whoever has the most financial muscle.

                      But mate, if you didn't do anything wrong, you shouldn't put up with that crap. A day, a week, a month...it doesn't matter. They are joke.

                        I will record my matches from now on. My PC is powerful enough to do it...
                        The online was a joke even without the ban, but is eighter this or nothing.

                            I actually recorded some of my matches too before my ban. Whenever I came up against a top ranked player, I'd record it and put it on Youtube.

                            Here's when I was 3rd in the world vs 74th for example;

                            This evidence DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING TO KONAMI.

                            They won't listen, they won't change decisions, they are a law unto themselves.

                              End of the day recording it doesn't prove much you could have pulled your Ethernet cable, no video can prove that.

                              I'd sack them off it's only a matter of time before you get another ban or perm ban. Then it's all wasted at the end of the day.

                                seriously if the match is alright untill I lead 3 or 4-0 and after my adversary pauses,doesn't make any formation changes & the game disconnects. how could anybody say this is my fault?
