It's just the way of commerce - things go down in price as they get older. Buy a new model car: 6 months later new version is out at a cheaper price and all the niggles with the original model fixed. Buy a TV: 3 days later there's a new feature out that is now default for all TVs at the same price and you've missed out.
People wind me up when they bitch and moan at me for buying a console at launch. In most cases is it really worth missing out on a years worth of gaming on a shiny new console to save a 100 quid on a price drop. It's not even ?10 a month.
Look at the 360 for example, they were ?210/?280 at launch. 8 years later they're still ?150/?200 albeit a few design improvements I'll admit... but still.

They have to draw a line somewhere, they have to drop the price at some point and every time they do there will be somebody that bought it the day before.
But at the same time they cannot compensate those who agreed to pay more for it on every occasion.
There is part of me that wonders that this was a very deliberate series of choices from even prior to launch.
They knew supply would be constrained, they knew there would he people who would buy at any price and they knew that the UK public are incredibly price sensitive, so something going on 'sale' is instantly more attractive.
Games are increasingly being priced over the odd because people like to think they've got a deal when they reduce them.Last edited by EvilBoris; 26-02-2014, 15:36.
