The dependence on Live for things that should just work if Internet is yet again super tiresome (Netflix, plex)

No problem on this side of the world. Used YouTube last night on the One.

Anyone got Xbox One issues at the mo?

Network settings test says everything is fine, but Xbox Live says it's not connected. I click the connect button but it does nothing. I rebooted. Still no joy.

Xbox 360 is fine.

You'll actually see us come out with new hardware capability during a generation allowing the same games to run backward and forward compatible because we have a Universal Windows Application running on top of the Universal Windows Platform that allows us to focus more and more on hardware innovation without invalidating the games that run on that platform.

They aren't saying that you'll get a console that is physically upgradable, just that you will see new better versions of xbox.
