NX will be both, an iOS-like ecosystem with home and handheld devices. Nintendo clearly don't have the resources or third party support to maintain two platforms. If they learn one lesson from this painful exercise it needs to be that.

Maybe NX is an app that makes PS4/XB1/PCs a Nintendo console. They do keep calling it a platform, never a console.
Anyway... talking to IGN Miyamoto said this: "We're here to talk about Star Fox but Zelda is still coming to Wii U, so don't worry about that.My thing with E3 is that we always focus on what's coming out in the immediate future. We have some really great Zelda footage and, at some point we will be showing that off, but not today."
If ever there was a day that footage needed to make an appearance surely it is today. I get the immediate future thing but this is the third E3 we've seen Yoshi and Xenoblade so WTF does it matter if Zelda comes out after the next E3, just some sight of progress would be nice.
Hastily put together Nintendo Direct with Zelda footage and loads of Splatoon/Smash Bros. update info coming with the next 4-6 weeks I bet.Last edited by Pikate; 16-06-2015, 23:32.

Nintendo keep on giving today. Star Fox Zero is not expected to have any kind of online multiplayer. FFS, i appreciate they are focusing on the single player aspect but Jesus Nintendo, online dogfighting could have been really quite fun in multiplayer.

Like Pikate, and what I've said many times before, there's no way I can justify a new hardware purchase next year. Even if it launches with Metroid/F-Zero. The treatment of their existing home console user-base is absolutely disgusting, especially after having things like MK8, Smash, Splatoon... You kind of hope that trend would continue instead of this is MegaCD/32X style send off.
Is this kind of business practice a Japanese thing, or what? Just drop s**t and try and repair it with a complete replacement? That doesn't work in video games, as Sega had once tragically proven.
Not even Guts can defend this.

The sense really feels like like they've learnt nothing from the WiiU launch and are epically out of touch with the market. You get occasional flashes of their game design quality with one or two titles but even their biggest move (amiibo) was lifted from someone else. Not an issue if you're reading the market to follow trends but if you are, why stop at one idea? Especially when you're tanking.

No point in them going 3rd party even. It's not just the WiiU hardware that's a problem now, they've largely run out of ideas. Feels a bit bad saying that after Splatoon I must admit though but that's such a rarity. Nintendo are actually dead to me at this point.
My WiiU is blinking a blue light at me. Like it's got something interesting and fun to tell me but I know that when I pick the controller up it'll be announcing a poxy amigo or something equally ****e.
EDIT: It was inviting me to try NINDIE games for free.Last edited by Brad; 17-06-2015, 07:19.

Their good games are so few and far between that having to buy their hardware to play them seems stupid at this point, particularly when the competition's hardware is always a generation ahead meaning you don't get any decent 3rd party support.
@dogg good choice on Prime Trilogy. I *think* I got it when it was about 8 quid or something ridiculous.
