So today I'm looking at the positives (or I'm a poor deluded bitch):
A. 2 or 3 things, like the short length, all that Mario guff and the fact SMT x FE didn't even have English titles, makes me think that they've cut something (moved it to NX or it will show up in a later direct) and they've padded the E3 presentation.
B. The consumers are being really vocal and mostly unanimous on this (even in Miiverse / Nintendo Life comments) despite the media once again copping out and not calling Nintendo on another balls-up.
C. (Really looking for positives now...) The basket I keep Wii U games in only has room for 2 or 3 more and with Yoshi's Woolly World on the way next week I won't have to worry about alternative storage since Zelda Wii U looks to be the only announced game I want (if it even happens).

I know it's sacrilegious to say it but they really need to retire Miyamoto, Iwata and Aonuma.
Miyamoto could just be a statesman they wheel out for the press but he's too experimental and weird now, Wii Music and most his Wii work was an abomination, Mario Maker isn't what they should be making, at least not as their AAA killer app and Star Fox seems to have no creative vision it's a load of square pegs in round holes to solve issues around a use for the gamepad, make an Arwing Amiibo and bring back characters he likes.
Iwata just seems to be making himself ill he's so out of his depth now.
Aonuma is arrogant and lost sight of the fact he's a game maker not an artist. He seems to think he's John Lennon and he's making the final Beatles album.
The three have just lost the plot and Nintendo would be fine without them, look at the best received Wii U games:
Splatoon: Miyamoto himself said it was a project "suggested to him and made by younger developers who love western games".
Smash Bros.: All Sakurai, SORA and Namco the big three guys above don't even appear in Directs about it.
Mario Kart 8: Miyamoto only talked about playing it never working on it.
3D World (as with Galaxy): Miyamoto is only an exec producer said he only went in now and again to make suggestions about what they were doing.Last edited by Pikate; 17-06-2015, 10:39.

?6 at Ikea, they do a darker/glossier stained version too, I just need to cut some card or something to line the bottom so they all sit straight but it's much neater than having game cases strewn around the TV when I'm changing discs a lot.Last edited by Pikate; 17-06-2015, 10:55.

If anyone were to ask me if I could recommend buying one after last night? I'd have to seriously consider their stance on how much they plan to play either Smash, MK8, or Splatoon. Even with Zelda and Xenoblade on the horizon it seems that the machine has only reached around 30-40% of its potential.

I'm not really disappointed. When I bought my Wii U in January I didn't expect much more to come out for it, and I have never liked Zelda unless it's on a handheld. Splatoon is much better than I thought it would be. I usually expect Nintendo consoles to have about 15-20 games that I want on them, and that's about what the Wii U is going to end up with, although the quality of them is better than on most Nintendo consoles. So it has suited me fine, and I will probably buy the next machine a few years into its life. I think people would have to be mad not to adopt a wait-and-see approach to the next machine,
