Probably because the focus here is more on console gaming?

To be fair, the Amiga does have significance where UK gaming is concerned. Loved me some Cannon Fodder and Sensible Soccer back in the day.

Glory days. Look at the leap in 4 years, from zx81 to amiga. Amazing.

I had an Amiga 1000. It was amazing. My biggest mistake was selling it to fund an Amiga 2000!

I'll be honest: I very briefly dabbled with the idea of purchasing an Amiga CD32.

Hardly. I was eleven years old at the time!

I'll give you that. Gods and the Speedball games were quality too.

Funny how the Amiga ports of arcade games like SF2 and such were inferior to the console ports (often due to the OG Japanese developers offering no assistance to Amiga/Atari ST coders, I know), yet the console ports of the best Amiga games were mostly rubbish with a few exceptions (I'm thinking Another World and Flashback).

Bitmap Bros are the biggest example of style over substance.

Speedball was great. Take that back

Not sure I agree if I'm honest.

And even if that is/was the case, lord knows that plenty of console game devs have taken that approach in far more blatant ways.

To be fair I'm wrong, Bitmap have made some decent games. Team 17 however...

I thought the Speedball games were awful in 1990 and even worse today. I like some of their other games though.

If they'd only made xenon 2 I'd agree with you, but they made good stuff too.

Speedball II for me is one of my all time favourites, Gods, Chaos Engine and Magic Pockets I enjoyed too.

Xenon 2 was fantastic graphically and sonically but in the end was a missed opportunity, shame really.

Played loads of TV Sports Football with the mates, got me into American Football.

F1GP was a corker, I had a GVP 680030 card with an HDD and it ran the F1 game plus the flight sims like F-16 and F-117 like a dream.
