Only a couple of times for me. I bought the physical PS3 version on release day, and then bought the digital PS5 version when it came out and was £8 for a period of time.

I got bored pretty quickly playing the PS5 version, though. Didn't get anywhere close to finishing it. I think I just hammered it way too hard back in 2013.

I bought GTA5 on the 360 then again on the Xbox One but never did go for the series X update (that was a thing, wasn't it?). I was tempted mind you. I just find Trevor completely nuts. Can't stop laughing at him.

One of my favourite memories from GTA 5 is from release day in 2013. I had a best mate staying with me during the work week at that time, and as I recall it came out on a Tuesday. I got it home and we stuck it in and after the introductory parts, spent ages just exploring. We were bouncing across the desert in a dune buggy as the sun began setting and All Saints' 'Pure Shores' came on on the radio. It was an absolute vibe.

In fact, we were convinced it had to be in some way scripted, it felt that perfect! It wasn't, of course. The game was simply very well designed to allow for these kind of emergent cinematic moments.

Hyperbole aside - because PS5 sales aren't remotely plummeting - it's still a thing that Sony and MS should be considering, there can't afford to be any reliance on a single third party games launch to help hardware sales momentum

It's published by Take-Two which is an American publisher, so no. Plus it'd have to be a January 20th 2029 release minimum for that.

Perhaps they just need more time to finish the game, exactly as they say.

There is SO much riding on this for Take2. They can't remotely afford a Cyberpunk 2077 style launch.

Society might well have collapsed by 2026. Electricity might be a thing of the past so we'd just have to play GTA6 in our imaginations.
