Is £44 a rip-off for this piece of nostalgic tat? I think it must be but can someone please say it's not as I just ordered one.

It's a limited edition novelty that has the first 2 mario games built in, a neat collectible. For me i think the price is ok but you are also talking to someone who preordered a full set of teeny tiny game gear micros lol. It has all the hallmarks of been a nice purchase in years to come, one thing i am damn sure of it's getting a bloody screen protector on it im sure there will be one out there either made specifically or i can find one that matches the screen dimensions.

Go on eBay, look at the prices that older G&W models are going for and then decide for yourself.

You'd likely double or triple back (or possibly more) that £44 by reselling later down the line.

I think £44 is fine for the Game+Watch. They could've gotten away with more, for sure.

And yeah, £50 is kind of expensive, and yeah, 3D World will 100% be a full price release too.

But to be honest, that's Nintendo software for you. It's expensive. It is what it is. To me, it's worth it. **** it, life's too short to sweat whether this game should've been twenty quid cheaper or whatever

Again, £50 RRP isn't a good look imo but this is what Nintendo always do so I really don't understand the outrage on your part about it.

I'll be buying it solely as a future investment, especially considering I'm still Switch-less and will be for quite some time.

I have way more preferable devices to play those games on.

So what? Crash Bandicoot trilogy getting remade from the ground up suddenly puts it on a par with 3D Mario???

Those games are mediocre at best.

I agree with you about the 3D Mario remaking element though. They could've/should've been remastered with the Odyssey engine imo.

I sold it at the start of COVID.

Partly because I could make a small profit from it, mainly because I'd not bought a game since December 2018.

I can see how it might seem that way.

The thing is, I have no problem most of the time with Nintendo charging a premium. Their titles are often worth it. Splatoon 1&2 are among the most polished games I've ever played, in an industry where so many titles are a buggy, frame-dropping mess. And part of the reason I don't mind is that at least when you buy a Zelda game or whatever, if it's £40, you know it's not going to be £5 in 6 months' time (I still remember buying Bioshock Infinite for £4 on Steam when its release was still a recent memory).

So believe me, I don't always have a problem with it. I would prefer they keep their premium price if they keep putting out stuff that justifies it.

Just sometimes they take the piss, and I don't mind being the person who complains about it

Nobody knows yet so far, i haven't been able to find it outside of the japanese nintendo store on that link fuse gave me or the uk nintendo store i keep checking amazon but nothing yet. These might end up been like the famicom and snes pads where you can only order them from the nintendo stores. I'll keep looking though on amazon.

Yeah, I’ve been checking amazon and no sign of the game and watch. All Stars is listed but doesn’t seem to ship here, which is usual for amazon so I’m wondering if they just chucked up the listing and will amend with more info.

I can literally buy all three titles, on their original platforms, for probably a third of that.
