Looking forward to the switch pro news next year that you’ll need a new account for, will have to start your online purchases all over again and Metroid prime 4 still isn’t released. Oh and it still uses the same hardware, just has pro printed on the box now to make everyone feel better.

I got my kids a Switch Lite a while back and they wanted to play Stardew Valley on both systems and it's impossible. What's mad is that even buying a second digital copy on my kids' account wouldn't do it. I had paid for two separate copies of the game, one bought on each system, purchased on different accounts but because of their primary/secondary console system you can't actually play both at the same time. Had to get it physical. Their account system is a total mess and a real barrier to buying a second system. I have a feeling that many people only find out just how bad it is when they have already bought a second system.

This is why you ONLY buy physical on Switch. I may buy some digital again on Nintendo when they have an account system properly set up thats on par with the other’s.

I think my preference for physical stuff's pretty well documented by this point, but as noted there's still a lot of stuff where digital's your only option. Thanks though DT, that's a pretty grim but very appreciated run-down of how clumsy I can expect the whole thing to be.
Mercifully, despite the potential of managing two Switches, I've only got myself to worry about, so playing simultaneously is less of a worry, but it still sounds like it'll find plenty of ways to get on my nerves.

This is one of the reasons i killed my oled preorder, unlike when you bought a extra ds you could just use them as you liked jumping back & forth but once your saves are tied to accounts it becomes a pain in the ass to jump around machines. Once i transferred everything from my old crumbling switch to my new red one i wasn't prepared to do that process all over again for an oled one.
Digital is a problem too there is way more games that i love that are indeed digital only. I try my best even if it means it costs double of the digital price in some cases to get a physical release as apart from those trash devs that either do cloud versions or only put half the game on the cart to save money by using the lower capacity carts but for the majority the game you get on cart is whole & fully playable without a 6 gig day 1 patch like on the other consoles.Last edited by importaku; 07-10-2021, 10:25.

Before I pick one up is there likely to be a review of the Lite any time or do you think this is it for this gen?
In this day and age, devices rarely do this because people on the production lines in China usually leak things, like casing designs, or someone like Hori "accidentally" leaks a case for a device that doesn't presently exist. But there's been nothing like this as-of-yet.

I actually picked up a grey switch lite myself a few months ago for £110 as I only really play handheld anyway. Really nice unit, for what it is... £80 is a great price.

I doubt there will be a revised Lite any time soon. £80 is really cheap for one anyway.
Originally posted by AsuraHonestly there's no way to know. There's been zero indication from Nintendo that there's a new one on the way; however, the Game Boy Advance SP was totally secret right up until about a week before it appeared in shops (the "SP" stood for Secret Project).
I definitely remember rumours in mags that a new model one was on the way at the time. I remember advising someone not to get one until the new model released. But I don't think there were any details available of what the update would actually comprise.

So Metroid Dread just dropped through my door and I have to wait till this evening to experience some Samus joy… Anyone played or currently playing it? Does it feel like the classic 2D games felt?
I’ve been avoiding as much info about it as possible, but I’m so excited for it, I just have to talk about it

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I can't see them making a change to the unit as the Lite seems more of an afterthought to be honest (OLED would be awesome though). The price is right and I need to upgrade from my well-loved 2Ds soon so I guess I'll bite.
although I'd love a spice/orange one.
I'll take the Purple/blue one for now.
