November is Pokemon Brilliant Diamond time with my son.

For the backlog I've yet to purchase Octopath Traveler, Luigi's Mansion 3, Link's Awakening, Super Mario 3D World, and Skyward Sword (which I've only ever played the first hour of yarr'd on the Wii). Super Mario 3D World is going to be immense fun with the three of us playing together.

2022 is going to be a busy gaming year for us. As well as the above I'm looking forward to Triangle Strategy, and along with my son Splatoon 3, who is also showing interest in the new Kirby.

I'd love the Advance Wars 1+2 remake, and feel like buying it just to show a vote of confidence in the IP. Although it's unlikely I'll find the time to play it.

There haven't been droughts in the Switch's line-up, certainly not since it entered its second year. There are about 4000 games on it now.

The only disappointment is that some of the flagship series got Wii U ports instead of new entries. That disappointment is somewhat abated by being able to play the games on the go.

2021 has been an excellent year for Switch owners.

Yep, it gets a heavy slate of releases but that scenario is why I've slipped off it somewhat. The exclusives have become weaker for my tastes and the ports tiring but I don't use it so much as a system to rely on so most of the third party/indie stuff I'm better served by elsewhere.

One heck of an Animal Crossing update coming along with a paid DLC integration of Happy Home Designer within the framework of the main game. It far, far exceeded what I was expecting.

The price increase for the Online service got announced. The increase is HUGE but you get the Animal Crossing DLC as part of it. I expected the increase be like a fiver or something. That is absolutely bonkers.

              Double the price

              No ta.

Apparently, that prices includes more DLC bundles in the future. So presumably the BOTW2 expansions will be part of it.

Wait, what am I looking at? That's the expansion cost total, right? Has the main service also gone up in cost or is it just these? I can't remember what it is normally so I'm not sure how much extra this is. I can't see me going for it either way. If you got the AC extra pack, would you only have it as long as you were subscribing to this expansion cost?

I'm kind of overloaded lol, never expected to see happy home designer revisited i loved that on 3DS. I just wanted gyroids & my wish was granted, now i have to stake out amazon japan for those series 5 amiibo cards but it's gonna be way harder this time compared to the others. It's pandemic scalpathon.

Stoked for AC fans who are seemingly all very happy.

Nintendo need to get on some proper messaging around the expansion of Switch online quickly though, as right now it's not clear and is putting a lot of people off. I am hoping that there's a version that's not as expensive and isn't coupled with DLC for a game I don't have?

For me this year has been very strong with the exclusives. I'm not particularly into sports games or FPS so the only area where the Switch can't hold its own against the other consoles for me is driving games, which have a much better selection on PlayStation and in particular Xbox. So I get those on whichever I can find cheapest of Xbox and PlayStation, along with games which have performance issues in their Switch ports. If the Switch port of a multiplat isn't worse than the others, I get that for its handheld play. But even subtracting those, there's still a great list of switch-only games.

from what i read up you can keep the same online price for the service that's currently out or you can pay the more expensive one to get the addon stuff included or if you already have a online sub that is paid for you can add on the extra expansion stuff for a additional fee.

So they're doubling the online price for access to Megadrive and N64 roms, and the pricktease of future undisclosed DLCs. ****ing jokers. Even the simps on Nintendolife can't believe it.

FFS that animal crossing stuff looks amazing, i'm already on switch online so it makes the pass upgrade a cheaper options to get that, yet im torn as i really don't want to support them increasing the cost of their online pass.

its £22 quid for animal crossing dlc on its own or an extra tenner for the n64 stuff and the animal crossing dlc its not doubling it its gone up by a third switch online is a £20 rrp though oftern its only 10-12 if you shop about.
